Parking Pilot Helps you Park the Car

The Parking Pilot is a device that assists people to park their cars more easily. It uses the traditional ultrasonic sensors that you see on the back of a number of cars, but inside it uses a few more graphics to help you judge the distances more easily.

The gadget is on sale over at Chinavasion and therefore it can be expected to be a bit different to a traditional gadget and in this case the Parking Pilot also has a breathalyser built in so you know if you are over the limit. [Read more…]

If you are like me and hate opening those blister or clamshell packages that usually contain stuff like memory upgrades and what not then the Zipit is looking like a handy gadget to have in the home. The Zipit is designed to open these sorts of packages and was designed because of a condition they jokingly call Wrap Rage!

More Apple iSlate Specs Leaked – Probably Fake

PhoneArena have posted a copy of a letter headed with the Apple [AAPL] logo that supposedly shows the specs of the rumoured iSlate device.

Features mentioned about the iSlate include a new operating system called Mac OS X Clouded Leopard that suggests the iSlate will be cloud based. Bullet points on the image show that it has a new user interface, a widget based homescreen, connectivity to the app store, 2x faster wakeup and shutdown speeds (compared to what I am not sure), and built in support for Microsoft Exchange Server. Automated Turn Switch off Machine

This is one of the most random gadgets I have seen in the last few years. The device is called the automated turn switch off machine and all it does is switch a toggle switch off every time you try to switch it on. I can’t see any other purpose then perhaps reminding you to switch off all your electronic devices when you are not using them – and that’s really stretching the purpose of it in my opinion.

When switching the toggle switch on the lid opens and a wooden hand type device jumps out and switches the switch off. The device has no micro-controller inside and everything is analogue. Check out the video below. [Read more…]

Apple iSlate Concept

The Apple iSlate concept drawing was created by Rodolphe Desmare and shows what the Apple iSlate should look like. The concept drawing shows the tablet device as having a large 10 inch screen with no bezel and no buttons.

As the whole idea of a tablet is to have a screen to work with we can understand fully why no physical buttons on the front surface would be needed or wanted. If a “home button” was to be found then they could tuck it away on the side of the device or just create an onscreen close all button. [Read more…]

Google Chrome OS Tablet being built by HTC

Tablets are getting a lot of mention these last months with mentions of the JooJoo and the Apple iSlate recently. Of course Google can’t be left behind in all the fun and information has now leaked saying that both Google and HTC are working together (for the last 18 months) on a Google Chrome OS tablet device.

Rumour: Google Nexus One on AT&T

BGR have posted a rumour/unconfirmed information about the Google Nexus One being made available unlocked on the AT&T network. The AT&T version will be 3G compatible. The person who provided the information to BGR also said that it will be a second unlocked model with T-Mobile still having the unsusidized version although I assume both types of phone will be sold on the Google site as previously mentioned.

Although just a rumour and very unconfirmed at the moment, we only have to wait till the 5th (next week) to see what Google has planned for the phone if that is what the press event is about. [Read more…]

Apple iSlate Tablet – More Rumours

Although nothing official has been announced about the Apple Tablet (to probably be called the iSlate), there are still a number of rumours floating around which still suggest it will be announced this month. The latest information says that the engineers and companies working on the project have all dropped off the map in the same way the same companies did back in early 2007 when the first iPhone was being prepared for launch.

The drop off the map is described by Josh Gruber as a “cone of silence” and sees Apple going in to meetings with potential partners with no prototype or presentation where potential partners are asked if they were interested “if they were to create a new platform”. [Read more…]
