New Dell Mini 10 with Intel Atom N450 Launches Today

Dell have launched their new Dell Mini 10 netbook that comes supplied with the all new Intel Atom N450 processor.

The new Dell Mini 10 is thinner and has a more sleek design. The keyboard on this netbook measures 92% of a full keyboard and the palm rest area is now textured allowing for less smudges to appear on the lower side of the netbook.

For the Mini 10 a new hinge has been created allowing a slimmer device that can still hold a decent sized battery. Three batteries are available for the Mini 10 with the 3 cell version offering 4 hours of usage while the two 6 cell versions offer about 8.5 and 9.5 hours each. Also both the 3 cell and 6 cell batteries measure the same size meaning that the mini 10 netbook wont have any additional bulk if you opt for the larger of the batteries. [Read more…]

Sony Alpha A450 DSLR Announced

Sony have announced a new camera in the Alpha range called the Sony A450. The A450 DSLR is a cut down version of the A500 in some ways in that it has a 14.2 megapixel CMOS sensor (same as the A500) but lacks fast-AF live view and lacks the tilting/swivelling screen.

The screen it’s self measures 2.6 inches making it relatively small also. By cutting screen size down and removing some of the features the battery life has been improved allowing it to capture over 1000 shots on a single charge.

The camera is kind of a confusing one according to DPReview as it has features of the A230 with a larger battery life making the lower range of cameras quite complicated in that they all vary by just a few features. [Read more…]

A new system has been created by Microsoft that could see Guitar Hero being played with an air guitar. The system is called the muscle computer interface.

The new technology uses EMG sensors places around muscles in the arms that detect movement from your hands and fingers. By placing the sensors on to the arm it allows for a more hands free operation for times when you are unable to hold a remote control or game controller. Other ideas are that of controlling an iPod type device while jogging allowing you to switch tracks or change volume by just flexing a muscle or two. [Read more…]
