New competitor for Apple’s iPad: The Samsung Galaxy Tablet Out Next Month

Could this be the iPad killer?? There’s a veritable plethora of reasons why it could be.

The new Samsung Galaxy Tab will be on sale in the US as of next month, across many of the major networks such as Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Sprint. As already mentioned in a previous post found here, we know of rumours dotted around the internet at the moment of prices for the Galaxy Tab ranging from between $200 – $400 on contract and around $600 – $700 as an unlocked package so nothing set in stone just yet. The ‘Smart’ credit card, coming soon?

The standard everyday credit card may soon be a thing of the past. For starters, ‘smart’ cards look and feel like the credit cards you may already have in your wallet but with the addition of a micro processor embedded within the card itself. This allows information to be stored on the card in much the same way as a magnetic strip (which will usually run along the back of the card). The difference here is that more than one set of information can be stored on a card at the same time thus also giving the user the ability to switch between them depending on which account is to be used to pay for something whether it be a credit card account, debit or savings account.

Parallels Mobile App Brings Windows Access to iOS

Parallels recently released Parallels Desktop 6 for Mac. A new update to the Parallels Mobile for iPad and iPhone has now been released that lets users connect up to their Windows machines direct from the iPad or iPhone.

The video below shows a demonstration of how the new update works and exactly what can be done with it. Of course there’s a small bit of lag (large lag in some cases when on slow networks), but overall it looks to be quite impressive.

Unfortunately the previous versions of Parallels Mobile were more restricted and hence, only a two start rating is given for the app at the moment. Now that more control has been given to users, we expect to see the star rating rise. [Read more…]
