From the little picture you see before you, there’s going to be a new update for the Xbox 360 Dashboard and a great one at that.
Drawings and pictures as well as a bit of rumour has been revealed about the HTC HD7. The only thing we don’t know at the moment is what it will be actually called. The image above shows it as the HD3, but most documents seen recently online show it as the HD7 which seems like its in answer to the Windows Phone 7 OS that it will run.
What we have now is the technical specs that reveal the handset is slightly larger than the HTC HD2. Size wise it measures 122 x 68 x 11.2 mm. For connectivity it works on the T-Mobile USA 3G frequency of 1700 MHz (might be just this model only) with other markets supporting other networks.
The HD7 is expected to be a flashship smartphone in terms of technical specs. [Read more…]
The Rocktab is a 7 inch tablet that runs the Google Android operating system.
Price wise, it’s quite cheap with a price $129.50 (£82) for a 2GB model. At that price you don’t get anything too fancy. It runs the Android 1.5 operating system that has been “customised and optimised” according to RedFerret. However, in speed terms the video (embedded below) shows that it’s actually quite smooth at running. [Read more…]
The Motorola DROID X OTA update for Android 2.2 is now incoming.
You can either get the update by waiting around for a notification on your screen, or do a manual check to see if an update is available. If you have a standard unrooted DROID X then the 2.2 update should be waiting for you.
New features the update brings include a faster OS (more optimised), improved visual voicemail, mobile hotspot and a fix to prevent drops in data connections when roaming between 3G and wireless networks and vice-versa to name a few things. [Read more…]
The HTC HD7 is a Windows Phone 7 based smartphone. Previously, it was thought to be the HD3 but perhaps due to the 7 in Windows Phone 7, HTC looks to have adopted the new HD7 name.
The images above (larger below), are drawings of what is believed to be the HD7. As can be seen in the drawings, a large camera lens can be found on the back and on the front, a large screen and the regular three button configuration that is a requirement in Windows Phone 7 devices. [Read more…]

Well its finally arrived, the long awaited PS3 Blu-Ray 3D support update is ready to download. Unfortunately, like we said in a previous post regarding this, you still need to have a 3D capable TV set in order to truly experience what this new update has to offer as well as the few games that are also available on the Playstation Network.
Once firmware version 3.50 has been downloaded you’ll be able to see for yourself what all the fuss is about… In 3D. [Read more…]

On September 23, a new iOS 4.1 jailbreak will be released for the iPhone 3GS and lower devices. This means that for iPhone 4, iPad and iPod touch 4th gen users, you will still have to wait around for another option.
The jailbreak software is called Sn0wbreeze 2.0 and when available, will allow Windows users to create custom firmware files that prevent the baseband being updated when you upgrade the firmware on the phone. What this in turn does is allows you to use Ultrasn0w to unlock the phone so that it can be used on any carrier you want (or any compatible carrier we should say). [Read more…]
Interesting information can be found whilst looking at patents filed. The latest we came across today comes from Apple [AAPL] that reveals plans for an accessory transceiver. The accessory transceiver could be used in the iPod touch which would effectively give it the ability to make phone calls and receive text messages.
It is believed that the device could act like the Peel case we wrote about a while back that you basically put your iPod inside to give it a mobile phone signal.
The device is not intended for just the iPod though and could potentially be used for the iPhone its self. You’re probably wondering at this point, why you’d want to add mobile phone functionality to a mobile phone… well, Apple also indicate that CDMA could be part of the device which would mean you could then use your iPhone on a different network to a GSM network. If you have a jailbroken iPhone or iPod touch then the Covert app found over on Cydia can be installed. What it does is adds a tweak to the browser on the iOS based device to allow you to switch browsing to a private mode, much like how Firefox and Internet Explorer have a private section of the browser.
What this mode does is allow you to browse the internet from the iOS device in complete privacy. For example, you could be looking up some health condition that you don’t want others to know you searched for.
The app integrates in to Mobile Safari and simply ads a button on the bottom tool bar that you can press to jump in to private mode. [Read more…]

Have you ever wondered what goes on at home when you’re not around?? Rovio (as the title suggests) is a wireless robot. This means that however you get online, Rovio will be your new friend. So whether you use your iphone, games console or PC, you can literally be anywhere in the world and Rovio can stay at home. But that’s not all…

Could Facebook really be concieving the idea of a ‘Facebook’ smart phone?? Quite possibly, though many people (including facebook themselves) have denied these rumors.
Via Mashable…
Spokesperson Jaime Schopflin revealed the following in a statement to Mashable:
“The story, which originated in Techcrunch, is not accurate. Facebook is not building a phone. Our approach has always been to make phones and apps more social. Current projects include include everything from an HTML5 version of the site to apps on major platforms to full Connect support with SDKs to deeper integrations with some manufacturers. Our view is that almost all experiences would be better if they were social, so integrating deeply into existing platforms and operating systems is a good way to enable this. For an example, check out Connect for iPhone and the integration we have with contact syncing through our iPhone app. Another example is the INQ1 phone with Facebook integration (the first so-called ‘Facebook Phone’). The people mentioned in the story are working on these projects. The bottom line is that whenever we work on a deep integration, people want to call it a ‘Facebook Phone’ because that’s such an attractive soundbite, but building phones is just not what we do.”
