Verizon just let BGR know that an OTA (over the air) update is being made available for the HTC DROID Eris. The updates were being pushed put at midnight last night meaning that when you read this you might have a notification of a new update ready to be installed this morning. However, only a small group will first get the update today with other users getting the update as Verizon roll it out over the next few days.
The new ROM brings the Eris up to version 1.16.605.1 with an update to the radio taking that up to 2.32.40.11.09 which probably doesn’t mean that much to most people. Details of what’s included can be found below. [Read more…]

Samsung are launching a new digital photo frame called the SPF-800P that has an 8 inch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.
Sony have announced a new firmware release for the Sony PlayStation 3. The new firmware 3.15 offers a feature that allows you to copy content from one PS3 to another. Data such as saved games, save data, videos etc… will be transferred and deleted from the old PS3 while personal data such as photos and videos uploaded yourself will be copied rather than deleted from the original PS3.
If you feel your toddler needs a voice on the Twitter micro blogging service then this gadget should be on their Christmas list (not like we think there is any point to it, but we thought we’d mention it anyway). The gadget is called Twoddler and uses sensors to capture a toddlers activity on a twoddler board that is internet connected. Each sensor has pre-defined text that is transmitted to twitter as of when needed.
Seagate have launched a new range of SSD (solid state drives) called Pulsar. The new Pulsar SSD’s are designed for server blades and enterprise configurations that require speed and performance. Each Pulsar SSD leverages non-volatile flash memory that has no moving parts unlike regular hard drives.
FineDigital have launched the Finedrive Style 3D sat nav system that takes it’s mapping technology from Atlan 3D. From what we see on the screen here, the navigation system is quite detailed in the 3D side of things and represents building and details more finely than other GPS units.
Dell have announced a new laptop in it’s Vostro range called the Dell V13. From what we see the laptop takes a few design elements from the new Dell Adamo we mentioned a few months back. The Dell V13 is thin at just 0.65 inches and when launched will cost $450.

Google [GOOG] have launched a new web service for mobile phones called Google Goggles. The program is free and available now from the Android Market. What Google Goggles does is allow you to take a picture of an object and then Google uses the image to try find a match in it’s vast library of cached images. By mixing the captured image with GPS you also get location based services. An example here could be taking a picture of a shop front with Google then working out where you are and providing details on the local shop.
