HTC Merge Spotted on Verizon Website – Quickly Remove

Yesterday, the Verizon [VZ] website briefly uploaded details of the HTC Merge. Android Central managed to grab a few screenshots just before Verizon took down the details.

Sony Ericsson X12 Anzu Details Leak

More details of the Sony Ericsson X12 Anzu have been revealed. The new device is expected to launch early next year installed with the Android 2.2 operating system. The Android 2.2 install will then be followed with Android 2.3 after launch (update rumoured for Summer 2011).

When Sony Ericsson launched the X10, it came with a very old version of Android and took a long time to be updated. It isn’t clear if this impacted sales at all or not, but it still left a few people frustrated and wanting the latest version of Android. Lets hope this new version will soon be updated to 2.3 rather than waiting as long as X10 owners did for 2.1. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy Tab Price Dropped in UK

Samsung in the UK is dropping the price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Prices over here in the UK range from between £600 – £700. The new price drop will see the Android tablet priced at less than £500.

Dixons is one example who have dropped the 16GB model down to £469 which also includes free delivery. [Read more…]

Evernote for iPhone and iPad Gets an Update for iOS 4.2 Support

Evernote for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch has been updated to include support in preparation for iOS 4.2 when it arrives sometime this month.

Google Nexus S Unveiled at Web 2.0 – Gingerbread Coming Soon

Over at the Web 2.0 summit, Eric Schmidt decided it was time to show off the Google Nexus S. The Nexus S was demonstrated running on the T-Mobile network. Interesting features included NFC (near field communication) which Schmidt expects to replace credit cards in the future.

The device its self was not officially announced as the Nexus S and the manufacturer of it also wasn’t made known (the name was covered in tape), but indications hint that the new smartphone will be landing soon. [Read more…]

iPhone 3G and 2G Get Dual-Boot Config

RedmondPie has created a step by step “how to” guide on installing Android 2.2.1 on to the iPhone 3G and 2G. The guide allows for both iOS and Android 2.2.1 to run side by side on the device allowing you to easily swap and change between either OS when needed.

To make this happen you’ll need a jailbroken iPhone 3G or 2G and will then need to download Bootlace found in Cydia. Once done, the steps can be found in the video embedded on RedmondPie found here. [Read more…]

Dual-Core Samsung Galaxy 2 Hinted

@eldarmurtazin is a fairly reliable source when it comes to new smartphones. One of the latest tweets he send out mentioned that he had the chance to look at both the Sony Ericsson Anzo and a Samsung Galaxy 2 smartphone.

The Sony Ericsson Anzo was said to be “nice” but he then went on to say that the Galaxy 2 was technically advanced and hinted at it being a dual-core device. [Read more…]

HTC Mecha Caught on Camera Again

The HTC Mecha has again been captured on camera. This time around the image shows the Mecha powered up which also allows a few interesting details to be found out.

New information revealed from the picture reveals Android 2.2 as the operating system along with the new HTC Sense. Also a 4G signal can be found in the status bar which points to LTE data on Verizon [VZ]. [Read more…]

HP Slate in High Demand – Six Week Shipping Delays

The HP Slate was first announced at CES right at the beginning of this year. Since then its been canceled, changed to webOS, Android and back to Windows. Now that it has finally launched (in Windows form), we now hear that extraordinary demand has put a six week waiting delay for those who order it today.

Although it takes six weeks to get to you and HP has described it has being in extraordinary demand, its difficult at this time to know exactly what that means in terms of sales. Apple [AAPL] announced along the way how many iPads had sold with that tablet device quickly reaching 1 million. Angry Birds Coming to the Big (TV) Screen

Pigs have taken your eggs. What better way of getting back at them by firing ‘angry’ birds from a massive slingshot directed straight at them. That’s pretty much it as far as the premise goes and that’s really all you need to know.

Since it’s launch on the iPhone back in December last year, Angry Birds has gone from strength to strength. With downloads literally in the millions, the fowl-flinger has seen huge success amongst it’s rivals and since then has more recently arrived on smartphones running Google’s Android operating system and is currently still doing rather well indeed. Google Nexus S Spotted

Yesterday, information about a new Google Nexus S smartphone started to leak out. The images were sent in to Engadget who comment that the phone pictures were actually captured about a month ago.

JooJoo Tablet is Discontinued

The JooJoo has been discontinued although Fusion Garage, the company behind it, are still alive and pressing forwards.

Chandrashekar Rathakrishnan, founder of Fusion Garage, confirmed to e27 today that the tablet was being stopped. What they will be doing from now on is focusing on other tablets, perhaps a JooJoo 2 that will run Android rather than Linux. [Read more…]
