Samsung GPS Restore App Launched for Captivate and Vibrant

Samsung has launched an app in the Android Market for those who own Samsung Galaxy S class smartphones that still have GPS problems.

Since the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S, it has had problems tracking your location with some cases reporting that you are in the next city along.

“During online surveillance, there is an abundance of GPS tweaks that impair GPS performance. Often times, no backup is performed to restore values prior to modifications. Samsung has released an application that restores GPS settings to recommended factory defaults for optinum [sic] performance.”

Project for iPad Officially Unveiled

Virgin launched a new iPad magazine last night. Called “Project” the magazine became available late last night. The app its self is free although there is a cost of $2.99/month to download the content.

LG Star Pictures Show Up

More pictures of the LG Star have arrived. This time from a member over at the AndroidForums website.

The pictures are fairly clear and show the back of the device, including the HDMI port on the top side of it. Also, the front page is shown and reveals that Android is running on the device although it’s not a stock version. [Read more…]

Nook Color Rooted – Plays Angry Birds

Angry Birds Christmas Edition Free Upgrade from Halloween Edition

We recently heard about the Angry Birds Christmas Edition launching in the next week or so. A number of people guessed that it would have the usual price tag of 99 cents to buy it. We now hear, from Rovio, that the Christmas Edition will actually be a free upgrade for those who have already purchased the Halloween edition of the game.

Playstation Phone Details Leak

More details about the Playstation Phone from Sony Ericsson have leaked. The details were leaked to Mobile Crunch who heard that the Playstation Phone was very real.

A few other details mentioned about the device include the screen being on par with the iPhone 4 retina display perhaps with some BRAVIA technology being pushed in there by Sony. We also hear that the device is nowhere near ready and that it might be ready for February to be launched at Mobile World Congress. [Read more…]

Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone Could Launch December 9

A mysterious press event is being held in France on December 9. The captured ad for the event shows several familiar logos which includes a phone symbol, X, Circle, Triangle and Square of course with the latter four of the five being Playstation controls. Mix that with the phone just before it… is the Playstation Phone about to be announced?

The image (in French) says that this event is to be the most anticipated in the last 10 years. The event will be hosted by Pierre Perron who is the DG of Sony Ericsson in France. [Read more…]

Woow Digital The One Tablet to Launch with Gingerbread

Woow! Digital has announced that it will be launching an Android 2.3 Gingerbread tablet in time for Christmas this year.

Technical specs reveal that inside there’s an NVIDIA Tegra Core 2, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. It has a 10 inch screen that has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. [Read more…]

Barnes and Noble Nook Firmware 1.5 Update Released

Barnes & Noble has released the 1.5 update for the Nook eBook reader. The new firmware update brings a number of new features to the device which includes a 50% increase on page refresh rates, syncing across Nook apps, customisable folders, password protection and improved search functions.

Samsung Galaxy Tab – 600,000 Sold Worldwide

We are hearing today that Samsung has sold 600,000 Samsung Galaxy Tab tablets within the first month of it being on sale.

These numbers, although I haven’t personally confirmed it, would probably make the Galaxy Tab the most popular Android based tablet in the world. I can believe that as well as I don’t recall other tablets selling this well (the ones with Android on them). [Read more…]

Playstation Phone Could Launch in February

We are no closer to knowing if the Playstation Phone from Sony Ericsson is actually real or not, but more hints that it could be made available have arrived. This time the information comes from the Sony Ericsson CEO who suggests that a new device will be launching in February of 2011.

The CEO basically said that with all the smoke around, there must be a fire in there somewhere. He then dropped a hint that a new device will be launching at Mobile World Congress this coming February. [Read more…]

Microsoft Kinect Hacked to Create Lightsaber Tracking

The Kinect has once again been made to work as something different to what Microsoft originally intended. This time, the Kinect is used to track a broom handle and with that tracking, displays a lightsaber blade on the screen along with the noises a Star Wars weapon would make.

The Kinect Hack comes from a guy named Yan this time. The software tracks the wooden stick and then real time software makes it glow on screen. [Read more…]
