Creative has unveiled the Creative ZIIO. The ZIIO comes in two sizes with one having a 7 inch screen and the other having a 10 inch screen.
The 7 inch model is white and uses a resistive touchscreen. The resolution is 480 x 800 pixels. The 10 inch version has a higher resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.
Inside the 7 inch model a ZiiLabs ZMS-08 CPI can be found. This particular set of tablets run Android 2.1. [Read more…]
ViewSonic has released details of the US launch of the ViewPad 7 and 10 models. ViewSonic confirmed that the 7 inch model will launch in the forth quarter of this year with a price tag of $479 while the larger 10 inch model will arrive early next year with a price tag of $629.
Each of the ViewSonic tablets is slightly different. The larger of the two devices is actually a dual booting machine that runs both Windows 7 Home Premium and Google Android 1.6. When switching it on you get to choose which OS boots up. For times when you quickly need to check email, you can boot in to Android and quickly grab those. The Samsung Galaxy Tab will be launching in the US in a few weeks on November 10th.
The Tab will be launching on the T-Mobile network in the US. As well as launching on T-Mobile direct, Amazon will also be offering the Galaxy Tab on T-Mobile although the shipping date for Amazon is set at November 9th, a day earlier. Shipping is also free with Amazon on this product. [Read more…]
ASUS has revealed a bit more information about its plans to launch tablets. The ASUS was reported to be buying Tegra 2 chips a few days ago and has now confirmed that several tablets will be arriving starting in December of this year.
Several tablets will be made available with screen sizes starting at 7 inches moving on to 10 and 12 inches. The 12 inch tablet will be a Windows based tablet running an Intel chipset. This particular model is not expected to hit until January. [Read more…]
HTC has announced that the HTC Wildfire will be launching in the US on multiple North American carriers. The launch will be held sometime in the forth quarter of this year… which is any time from now.
The device its self has a 3.2 inch QVGA touchscreen and is classed as a mid-range Android smartphone. It has a 528MHz processor, 512MB of ROM and 384MB of RAM.
On the back of the Wildfire is a 5 megapixel camera. For connectivity it has Wireless 802.11b/g. It runs the Android 2.1 operating system. [Read more…]
We haven’t heard much at all about the Google Nexus Two since initial rumours several months ago. Suddenly we heard this week that Carphone Warehouse will be getting an exclusive on it here in the UK. We now hear that Google and Samsung (not HTC) will be making an announcement on November 8.

Google and Samsung will announce the “Nexus Two” at a press conference on November 8th in New York city. The phone will be the first device to ship with stock Gingerbread (Android 2.3) and it will be available soon on multiple carriers.
Yesterday, Engadget managed to get hold of a number of pictures of what is believed to be the new Sony Ericsson Playstation Phone.
On one of the image the phrase Z-System was seen on the top left of the screen. After a bit of digging around it appears that Sony Ericsson also own a domain called z-system.com and that a Word Mark (trademark) of Z-System is also found in the US and Benelux trademark offices.
The description of Z-System shows that its software that interacts with software found on mobile phones, ie a gaming system could fall in to this category. [Read more…]
Verizon [VZ] has created a document for the Samsung Galaxy Tab called “Things to Know”. The document covers six points about the Galaxy Tab tablet device. None of the information within the document is new and its what we already knew from previous details.

Around Christmas time this year, the UK might get to see a new Google Nexus Two smartphone. Some reports today are hinting at Google [GOOG] selling the phone exclusively through Carphone Warehouse who specialise in selling unlocked handsets in the UK.
As for technical specs, it is expected to of course be better than the Nexus One in that it will have a quicker CPU, perhaps a higher resolution screen (at a guess) and it will run the latest Google Android operating system 3.0 (2.3?) codenamed Gingerbread. [Read more…]
Several months ago, Engadget revealed some information about a new PlayStation phone being created by Sony Ericsson. Details about the device showed that it would be running Android 3.0 and that it would be the best combination of games and phone mixed in to a single package.
Sony Ericsson quickly dismissed the details saying that it wouldn’t happen this year (kind of leaving it open for interpretation). Engadget has now uncovered more details about the PlayStation Phone and actually has a few pictures of it. [Read more…]
The JooJoo launched a few months ago in the first quarter of this year. Sales haven’t been as good as Fusion Garage expected although in Europe and Asia it is supposedly doing quite well.
On to the JooJoo 2. We now hear that a new model will be coming out sometime next year and will differ in that it will run a version of Google Android. The new tablet might come in a few different versions as the founder of Fusion Garage said they wanted multiple models out there, but also said that the original JooJoo would not be available when number 2 launches although it will be supported. Those of you privileged enough to own a smartphone currently running the latest Android OS 2.2 – FroYo will be delighted to know that YouTube now have a standalone app ready to download.
According to T3, the new YouTube application will feature the ability to record and upload videos from within the app itself as well as being able to receive more timely updates. [Read more…]
