As well as confirming the white Galaxy S II today, Samsung has also confirmed the Samsung Galaxy R. The new smartphone is runs the Android 2.3 gingerbread operating system and has a 4.19 inch Super Clear LCD display. The resolution of the screen is 800 x 480 pixels.

Samsung Confirms White Galaxy S II for UK
Samsung has officially confirmed that they will be launching a white version of the Samsung Galaxy S II here in the UK on September 1. The official announcement follows a few days of rumours that were started by a retailer in the UK.
JooJoo 2 Could be Launched by Fusion Garage Soon
The last we heard from Fusion Garage was back in November last year. The report back then mentioned that Fusion Garage would be relaunching a new model of the JooJoo (the JooJoo 2 perhaps) in the first half of this year and that it would have more storage (16GB) and that it would be designed to work with business more by including built in apps for business users.
iPhone 5 Might Not Arrive in 64GB Capacity
One of the rumours about the iPhone 5 is that it will be supplied in a larger capacity of 64GB. Today, a screen shot hints that this might not be so. A screenshot (displayed below), shows some internal system from Korea Telecom which has three devices listed. Each begin AIP5 which means Apple iPhone 5 (similar to the AIP4 from last year). Two of those devices listed have capacities mentioned, one with 16GB and the other with 32GB. The final 00 model means it is an unlocked device and not a different model of the device.
Acer to Launch Iconia Tab A100 in August
Acer will be launching the Iconia Tab A100 in August. The details were confirmed in an email sent to Acer retail partners recently. The email also confirmed that the tablet would be priced at $300.
Skype Updated to Version 5.5 on Windows
A new version of Skype has been launched on Windows. The latest update is version 5.5 which brings a few new features to the VoIP service. New features of Skype 5.5 include a deeper Facebook integration that allows you to speak with Facebook contacts as well as see wall posts and make comments all from the Skype interface.
iPad 3 Could be Built by Pegatron
The next Apple tablet, the iPad 3, will be built by Pegatron. Up till now, Foxconn has been responsible for building both the 1st and second generation models. The report tells us that Pegatron underbid the owners of Foxconn (Hon Hai) in order to win the contract.
Microsoft Update Brings RAW Image Format Support to PC
Microsoft has released a codec pack update for Windows 7 that can read RAW format images captured on 120 digital SLR cameras. When downloaded, the new codec allows users to use Explorer or Photo Gallery to view the images. Prior to this update RAW format users had to use other 3rd party software to quickly see the images.
BBC Launches New Global iPad iPlayer
Earlier this year the BBC announced that its iPlayer service would be launched as an app for those not in the UK. The Global iPlayer app was said to be subscription based due to other countries not paying the UK TV license fee. The new iPlayer app has now been launched.
RIM Launches BBM6 With More Social Support
RIM has just announced and released BBM 6. New features bring more social interaction to the device. The new version now includes support for BBM Connected apps so that users have an easier way to communicate with each other on their smartphones.
iPhone 5 Release Date Now Rumored for 2nd Week in Sept
Earlier this week, a report indicated that the iPhone 5 release date was going to be around September 5th. We now hear slightly different rumours hinting at a week or so later than that.
Windows Phone 7 Mango will First Arrive on Fujitsu IS12T
