Windows Phone 7 Mango will First Arrive on Fujitsu IS12T

You might have already seen a picture of the Fujitsu IS12T earlier on today when I mentioned that Microsoft had signed off the Mango update as RTM (released to manufacturer). This particular smartphone is expected to be the first hardware that will run Mango.

The new Windows Phone 7.5 Mango on the IS12T phone will arrive on the KDDI network in Japan.

On the hardware side of things, it is dust and water resistant. It weighs 113g. Technical specs show it has a 13.2 megapixel camera although this could mean nothing depending on what type of sensor Fujitsu has decided to put inside. It has a 3.7 inch display that has 800 x 480 pixels. Powering the device is a Qualcomm chip (the MSM8655). The speed of the processor hasn’t been announced although it does run at 1GHz in other smartphones, so could likely fall in to that range. As it is using Mango, it runs the Internet Explorer 9 browser which is also accelerated by a GPU.

It isn’t clear if Fujitsu will release the IS12T anywhere else around the globe. Expect to see it made available soon over in Japan with other Mango smartphones appearing around the rest of the world in the months to come.

The video below shows the official launch event of the IS12T:

When launched it will come in Pink, Yellow and Black.
