DuoSense Touchscreen Controller – 10+ Touch Points

Fujitsu and N-Trig have teamed up to created a new touchscreen controller named DuoSense. The display is multitouch and will allow for 10 or more simultaneous touch points at very high refresh rates. Like it’s predecessor (also named the DuoSense) this controller also uses capacitive touch making it possible to use both pen and fingers if needed. Dell Android MID Rumoured

dell-mid-rumorDell have been rumoured recently to be working on a number of devices. A few weeks ago there was mention of the Dell Android phone which might be appearing later this year. A new device which they also might be working on is a Dell Android MID (Mobile Internet Device).

ASUS Eee PC T91 Now Available

ASUS have listed their latest Eee PC on their website. It is named the Eee PC T91 and is a bit different to other Eee netbooks that you will have seen.

The Asus T91 is another netbook but rather then being just a netbook, it is also a tablet too making it a netbook tablet. It has an 8.9″ touchscreen and is powered by an Intel Z520 1.33GHz Atom Processor. 1GB of RAM can be found in the netbook along with an SSD with a 16GB capacity. [Read more…]

Lenova Ideapad S12 with NVIDIA Ion

Lenova have released a new netbook named the IdeaPad S12 which is the first netbook to use NVIDIA’s Ion chipset. The Ion based motherboards use the NVIDIA 9400m graphics chip along with an Intel Atom processor. Asus Eee 1000HV gets Integrated ATI Graphics Chip

asus-1000hvAsus have released a lot of Eee PC’s since the range was launched a while back. Another one has recently popped up which indicates the graphics will be receiving an update. This latest Eee PC model is to sport an integrated ATI graphics card.

The Asus Eee PC 1000HV will include an Intel Atom N280 processor along with an ATI Radeon HD 3450 graphics processor that will have 256MB of memory on board. [Read more…]

Android Embedded in to Digital Photo Frame

Fujitsu and Macnica have been working jointly on a project that puts Google Android’s OS on to a digital photo frame. From what looks to be mad reasoning a closer looks actually makes me think this could end up being a good thing. The Android OS was originally designed to be used on a mobile phone. It was then ported over to a netbook and then now on to a digital photo frame. You see, the main problem with digital photo frames is that the UI is generally rubbish. If Android makes the user experience far better then I am all for using Android on a photo frame. Using that OS also makes it possible to do other things with the photo frame like easier integration with online services. [Read more…]

Asus U Series Laptops

asus-u20Asus have provided details of their latest line of laptops in the U series. The designs are similar to the MacBook Air and larger and faster then the Eee PC 1008HA. 3 versions of the U series are being launched with the first being named the U20A which has a 12 inch screen. The next is the UX30 which has a 13.3 inch screen and finally the UX50V which features a 15.6 inch screen.

Processors vary on each model with the entry level being supplied with either a 1.2GHz Celeron M. The mid range and higher models (UX30 and UX50V) have either a 1.3GHz Pentium, 1.4GHz Core 2 Solo or a 1.6GHz Core 2 Duo. [Read more…]

Palm Foleo to use WebOS

palm-foleo-webosAlmost 2 years ago we mentioned that Palm were looking at launching the Palm Foleo. The Foleo is a netbook style device which was first drawn up about 10 – 12 years ago (although only referred to as a netBook). Back in 2007 when we mentioned the foleo, it was set to be pre-installed with a linux OS, have a 10″ screen and weigh about 2.5lbs. The Foleo shortly after was dropped. It seems like Palm might be trying to relaunch the Foleo again but this time using the WebOS operating system that the Pre is using. [Read more…]
