motorola-droid_1Over the weekend we posted some shots that we found regarding the Android 2.0 operating system that BGR managed to get their hands on. Just a day before that BGR also made a quick video showing HELLOMOTODROID which looks to be exactly the same phone.

Now BGR have shown us some full pictures of the phone including a number of angles showing us exactly what it will look like. The phone as mentioned, will run Android 2.0 (which from what I have read looks amazing) and will be slightly thicker than the iPhone 3G S. It is described as the thinnest QWERTY slider phone ever mad. It runs a fast processor and has a nice sized capacitive touch-screen for input. [Read more…]

Motorola-MotoBlurCheck out this cool little hack that see’s Motorola’s MotoBlur ported over to a HTC G1 android phone. The hacker managed to achieve this by using a leaked copy of the Motorola Cliq ROM which was then converted, some how, and ported on to the G1.

As of yet, there are no instructions on how this was done, but hopefully in the next few weeks somewhere like XDA forums will have a user who provides the details.

Some cool applications that you don’t see on the regular G1 include Happening which is a service that mixes together updates from your Facebook profile along with Twitter and MySpace and presents them all on a single thread. Google Android Modder gets hit with a Cease & Desist

cyanogenA popular modder who created Cyanogen, the modded Android ROM, has been recently hit with a cease and desist from Google telling him to not distribute closed-source applications. This includes Gmail, Maps and Youtube that are often part of his roms.

Cyanogen is a ROM that runs on phones like the G1 which is already designed to run those applications, so it seems a little odd that Google are trying to prevent it. One other problem is that Android Market is supposedly closed source too, so even if the ROM was installed then you might struggle to actually get to download the applications. Maybe google and Cyanogen can work something out together. [Read more…]
