Dell have been rumoured recently to be working on a number of devices. A few weeks ago there was mention of the Dell Android phone which might be appearing later this year. A new device which they also might be working on is a Dell Android MID (Mobile Internet Device).

The HTC Hero is an Android based phone (the 3rd one from HTC) and is the first that supports flash. It has the same familiar trackball that the G1 has and is shaped very similar to the G1. It has a 480 x 320 pixel screen measuring 3.2 inches in a HVGA format. [Read more…]
Google have just released the latest version of Google Maps for the google phone (G1 and Magic). Google Maps is normally built in to Android and only receives updates when the phone network decide to push it to their users. This blurry picture shows a Dell mobile phone running what appears to be the Android OS. The image was taken over in China and confirms a smartphone rumour that has been around recently around April time.

A few netbooks have been mentioned over the last few weeks that are aiming to use the Google Android OS rather then XP or a variation of Linux. Those manufacturers include Dell, Acer and MSI to name a few, but as of yet, nothing has been seen yet that is official. Fujitsu and Macnica have been working jointly on a project that puts Google Android’s OS on to a digital photo frame. From what looks to be mad reasoning a closer looks actually makes me think this could end up being a good thing. The Android OS was originally designed to be used on a mobile phone. It was then ported over to a netbook and then now on to a digital photo frame. You see, the main problem with digital photo frames is that the UI is generally rubbish. If Android makes the user experience far better then I am all for using Android on a photo frame. Using that OS also makes it possible to do other things with the photo frame like easier integration with online services. [Read more…]
It seems like Dell are now working on an Android Netbook. The netbook mentioned was the Dell Mini Inspiron 910 and this information was dropped by Bsquare who are porting Adobe Flash Lite to the new Android Netbook… shortly after the press release coming out it was removed from the site.
