Sanwa Supply has created a new projector for the iPhone 4 and 4S that simply slides on to the Apple smartphone and allows a screen of up to 65 inches to be projected. The device is a DLP micro projector that has a resolution of 640×360 pixels and a contract ratio of 1,000:1.

Report Hints at Two New iPads This Year
Digitimes is reporting that there will be two new iPad models launched this year. When they say two models, they don’t just mean black and white or 3G vs non-3G. They actually mean that a second and cheaper iPad will be launched to target the mid-range price of $299. The main difference will be that the high-end model which is priced around that of the current iPad 2 will have a higher resolution screen. Both the high-end and mid-range models will use the Apple A6 processor.
Amazon Kindle Fire Eats in to iPad Sales
Estimates indicate that Apple [AAPL] sold 2 million fewer iPads this past holiday season. It is estimated that almost 16 million units were to be shipped but figures hint at about 13 million were shipped. A lot of that shortfall is believed to caused by the Amazon Kindle Fire.
iPhone 4S and iPad 2 Jailbreak Could Arrive Next Week
A tweet made by pod2g today hints that an iPhone 4S and iPad 2 jailbreak could be released as early as next week.
“I made a step today for the A5. With some luck we could expect a release in a week.”

iOS Browser Share Ends up at 52% in 2011
Just over half of all mobile devices browsing the web were created by Apple. Numbers are showing that at the end of 2011, Apple had a 52.1 percent share of mobile browser traffic.
Ask Ziggy Voice Control for Windows Phone Launches
Windows Phone users have another option for voice control today thanks to an app called Ask Ziggy. The new app was created by Shai Leib and can be seen in some ways as being similar to Apple Siri and the Android equivalent. The app lets users use voice to ask the phone questions such as directions, flight status, stock prices, weather as well as calculations and questions.
1.2 Billion iOS and Android Apps Downloaded Last Week of 2011
Over the last week of 2011 (December 25 to December 31), there were more downloads made than ever before by iOS and Android users. The stats company Flurry has reported that 1.2 billion apps were downloaded through that week.
Facebook Timeline Support for iPad Rumoured for January Launch
Facebook released Timeline to all desktop users in the middle of December. A few days later the universal iPhone/iPad app for Facebook was updated although Timeline was only given to iPhone users on this app update.
We now hear that by the end of January another update will happen which will allow iPad users to be able to use Timeline via the Facebook app.
iPhone 5 Likely to be Redesigned
Rumours are heating up for the iPhone 5 launch. Although the date for launch isn’t known at the moment, it will likely be sometime from June to October of 2012 depending on if Apple [AAPL] have permanently changed the yearly cycle from June to October as done with the iPhone 4S. The latter month is more likely to be the launch month to make it around 5 – 6 months after the iPad 3 launch.
What we hear today, which also comes as no surprise, is that the iPhone 5 will be redesigned. Apple tend to do this with the iPhone… think 3G/3GS and 4/4S.
Recalled 1st gen iPod nano Being Replaced with Latest Gen nano
You might remember that Apple [AAPL] has recalled a number of first generation iPod nano units. These were the ones build in September 2005. We are now seeing evidence that Apple has replaced some 1st gen units with the latest 6th gen models.
It Could be Time to Update from iOS 3.1.3 – App Store No Longer Works for You – Might be a Bug
Update: It appears that this was a bug and that 3.1.3 devices are now once again able to access the App Store direct on their iOS device.
iPhone and iPod touch users still running iOS 3.1.3 are now (as of the 16th December 2011) unable to directly download apps from the App Store. Instead, new updates and apps will need to be downloaded in iTunes and then synced to the iPhone or iPod.
New Information Hints at a 7.85 Inch iPad mini for Q4 2012 Launch
Apple could be planning to launch a smaller iPad in time for Christmas 2012. This new iPad would follow along from the iPad 3 that is expected in April. The difference will be the screensize of 7.85 inches as opposed to the regular 9.7 inch iPad screen we see on the yearly generation changes.
