I was hoping that rumours were coming to an end today after the crazy Apple 4G rumour we posted this morning, but unluckily I came across another about the Apple iSlate again. This time an unknown source has told TG Daily that Apple have purchased all available supplies of 10.1 inch LCD and OLED multi-touch displays for an upcoming device.
“We were designing a product for a customer and we needed 10 inch screens, but we’ve been trying for months and can’t get one from any of the Asian suppliers,” an anonymous designer for a firm wishing to remain nameless told TG Daily.
More rumours have been started saying that Apple are looking to launch the next gen iPhone (4th gen model) in May rather than waiting for an official announcement in June like usual. The reason for this is that they are looking to counter Google who are looking at releasing a new Google Phone (perhaps a Nexus Two) around that time.
A new patent was published yesterday morning that shows an insight what Apple could be coming up with for the next few months. The title of the image above indicates that the next gen iPhone could have an advanced touchscreen. Also the patent indicates that iPod Touch and MacBooks as well as a MacBook tablet device are also to be included in this.
AllThingsD are reporting that Apple [AAPL] are set to announce something big on January 27. The event has been described as being “on and it’s going to be a big deal”.
PhoneArena have posted a copy of a letter headed with the Apple [AAPL] logo that supposedly shows the specs of the rumoured iSlate device.
The Apple iSlate concept drawing was created by Rodolphe Desmare and shows what the Apple iSlate should look like. The concept drawing shows the tablet device as having a large 10 inch screen with no bezel and no buttons.
According to Digitimes sources Apple [AAPL] have placed an order for a number of 5 megapixel CMOS image sensors to be used in next generation Apple products. This could mean that if an iPhone is launched next year that it will sport a better camera than previous models. Anonymous sources have stated that the order was specifically for the next generation iPhone due out in the middle of 2010.
Apple [AAPL] have filed another patent that describes interaction with 3D displays. The system works by changing what you see on screen in relation to where your head is. A similar system was created by Jonny Lee where he used a Nintendo Wii remote along with infra red to make a head tracking system (seen in the video below).
Although we are looking at another fake here, it’s still a cool fake at that. We are not 100% sure it is fake as you never really know till the official announcement, but lets call it high 99%.
A new patent for Apple [AAPL] has been published that gives details of a new universal docking station that is compatible with a number of devices that can be connected to it.
