DROID Incredible up for Pre-Order at Verizon

The DROID Incredible by HTC is up for pre-order on the Verizon [VZ] site. The phone is offered for three prices dependant on you wanting it with or without a contract, and for how long you want the contract to be.

The month to month price for the phone is $529.99, but you are not locked in to a contract with the phone. The next is a 1 year contract that brings the phone down to $269.99 which includes a $100 web discount. Finally, if you sign up for a 2 year contract that price drops to $199.99 along with the same $100 discount.

Various DROID Incredible reviews have praised the device saying it is the best Android smartphone that you can purchase (or will be able to purchase when it ships next week) in America. [Read more…]

Apple iPad 3G Shipping May 7

Apple [AAPL] have updated their site in the US to display shipping information for the iPad 3G models. For those who have pre-ordered the iPad you should expect delivery around May 7. – Update: It appears that those who order the iPad 3G now will receive it May 7th, and those who pre-ordered over the last month or so might still receive it later this month. We’ll keep an eye open and update the post as we find out more.

If you remember, the launch date was supposed to be late April for the iPad 3G, but due to a successful launch and short supplies of stock, the 3G got delayed slightly and also all international launches were delayed a month.

The up side is that the UK, Canada and several other countries should still get both the Wifi and 3G iPad models the same day towards the end of May. Pre-orders for international are set for May 10. [Read more…]

Apple iPhone 4G Pictures Emerge

Leaked pictures have arrived claiming to be the next gen iPhone which we believe will be called the Apple iPhone 4G or iPhone HD. Unlike the fake renderings of last week and previous iPhone HD/4G concept designs which of course are not real, these pictures “might” actually be the real deal.

Reasons for believing this is due to several pictures being revealed since January at separate times that show a device that looks almost the same in all instances. If you remember back in January just before the iPad announcement, some leaked shots were posted on the internet of the iPad that was locked down to a desk. If I remember correctly, Steve Jobs mentioned in his presentation the day after that they were the real deal. In that picture (posted below – top image with white squares), you might notice on the top right of the image just above the two white squares that there is a corner of a mobile phone. Compare that to the images found below and you might see a resemblance of the top right of the phone that has a rectangular button with two round buttons below. [Read more…]

Sprint are launching a new Apple iPad case that they are calling the 4G Case for iPad.

The case is designed to carry an Apple [AAPL] iPad along with one of their 4G wireless hotspots allowing a wireless iPad to connect to the internet anywhere a 3G or 4G signal can be found.

The 4G hotspot used is called the Sprint Overdrive Mobile Hotspot and allows up to five devices to connect up to it simultaneously which in turn, are connected up to Sprints wireless data network that in some areas provides a very fast connection speed. [Read more…]

Microsoft Office 2010 RTM Stage Reached

Starting April 27, Volume Licence Partners will be able to download the final version of Microsoft Office 2010. The reason for this is that it’s reached the RTM stage, ie, release to manufacturing.

The order of which Microsoft [MSFT] will launch the software is manufacturers first on to businesses to retailers and then finally the customer will be able to pick up the software.

The last stage, customers, will be able to buy the Office 2010 software off the shelf around June time. [Read more…]

Apple iPhone 4G to Launch in June – Rumour due to AT&T Blocking Holiday

This year it seems like Apple [AAPL] are actually going to launch the iPhone 4G a little earlier in June if a mixture of rumours and AT&T sources are to be believed.

The reason we think the iPhone 4G is coming in June is due to AT&T sources saying that the carrier has put a block on staff taking vacations in June (normally July in previous years). According to BGR, the only time Apple do a complete block on vacations like this is when a new iPhone is about to launch.

What we don’t understand is why the block is a month early unless the iPhone 4G is launching as soon as the announcement has been made (which we believe is June 22) and then carries on through the end of June in to July. [Read more…]

Apple iPad – The Worlds Most Expensive Name Tag

This is probably one of the more (if not most) expensive ways to let everybody know what your name is.

The Apple iPad application is called My Name Is and is simply used for you to enter your name and then wear it around your neck to let everyone know who you are.

When I say iPad app, I should probably clarify that it’s actually an iPhone application zoomed in… either way I guess it takes a special sort to want to use the app. [Read more…]

Dell Streak Tablet Leak – 7 and 10 inch Versions

Pictures of the Dell Streak Tablet computer have leaked. The images show a couple of tablets with one measuring 7 inches and the other measuring 10 inches.

We first heard about the Dell Streak back on March 10 although at that time it was thought to be just a 5 inch version previously called the Mini 5.

Regarding launch dates we are also hearing that the Dell Streak 5 and 7 will launch later (or even late) this year with the 10 inch Streak launching early 2011. [Read more…]

Apple Patent shows “Concert Ticket +” Application

Apple [AAPL] have filed a detailed patent that shows they want to get in to the Concert event tickets business. From what we see they are creating a new application to be called “Concert Ticket +” that works in conjunction with Apple iTunes and eliminates the need for paper tickets.

The system is designed to enhance the concert ticket buying process and from what we can gather, will provide access to live recordings of concerts you have attended, allow access to theme parks and other large events as well as let you know when concerts are happening nearby.

The system shows that users can store tickets on the iPhone for use at a concert. By possibly using NFC, ie near field communications with RFID tags, it would allow the iPhone, or other device to be used to authorise entry. [Read more…]

Olympus Introduce a Collapsible Wide-Angle Zoom lens in Micro Four Thirds

Olympus have unveiled a new collapsible Wide-angle zoom lens in the micro four thirds format. The new lens is called the M Zuiko Digital and has a range of 9 to 18mm (18-36mm equiv) with F4-5.6.

The lens is pictured above in the middle. When launched by Olympus it will cost around the $700 mark. Shipping is expected to start in May for the lens. The lens when opened up about doubles in length. Reviews of the lens indicate the out of focus highlights are ugly, but that the lens is very sharp. Autofocus is fast and overall the lens is small in keeping with what Micro Four Thirds is all about. [Read more…]

Supersize your iPhone in to an Apple iPad

If the $499 price tag of the cheapest Apple iPad is too much for you then perhaps this alternative might work for you. The iDock XL is simply a 10 inch screen that you dock your iPhone in to and it makes the image on the iPhone in to an image slightly over the size of the iPad.

Some may argue that the iPad is just a blown up iPod Touch (or iPhone) and with that in mind, this is why the iDock XL was created. Problem is that it just doesn’t quite look the part.

The unit costs £149 which is cheaper than an iPad (assuming even Apple [AAPL] wont make the UK iPad price that unbelievable) and allows you to dock either the iPod Touch or iPhone inside. [Read more…]
