Motorola XT300 Android QWERTY Slider Phone

Motorola could be launching a new handset called the Motorola XT300. A picture of the Motorola XT300 was uploaded to a Chinese Android forum called HiAPK recently.

Details of the phone show that it is Android based and runs the Android 2.1 OS. A full QWERTY keyboard is to be found on the device. The keyboard slides out of the bottom of the device in a Palm Pre style. [Read more…]

Philips 21:9 3D Cinema Display Landing in Homes

Early last year, Philips unveiled the Philips Cinema 21:9 screen that was super wide in aspect.

This particular TV is being revived and will be launching again as a 3D enabled Cinema TV. The new Philips 21:9 3D Cinema Display measures 58 inches diagonally.

The new TV will be capable of playing both 2D and 3D content in 2.39:1 format which gets rid of the black borders on the top and bottom of movies. Of course, if you watch regular TV on the Cinema display then the borders are put on the sides on a TV this wide. [Read more…]

T-Mobile G2 to get Android 2.2 and 800Mhz CPU

It has been confirmed that the T-Mobile G2 will run Android 2.2 when it launches. Other details also reveal that the MSM7x30 CPU to be found inside will be clocked at 800MHz rather than 1GHz.

T-Mobile are still calling it the fastest smartphone experience in America although that could be in regards to it’s fast HSPA+ network connectivity.

It could still run very fast though. If HTC opt for cutting out a lot of junk from the OS, commonly known as bloatware, it could gain an advantage over other smartphones. [Read more…]

Windows Phone 7 Released to Manufacturing

Windows Phone 7 has now been released to manufacturing by Microsoft [MSFT]. What this means is that smartphone manufacturers can start making the hardware that will run it in preparation for launch which is expected in the middle of next month.

There are several hardware manufacturers creating hardware for Windows Phone 7 such as Samsung, HTC, LG, Dell and ASUS. It is expected that each company will release a smartphone in preparation for launch.

Although the official launch date hasn’t been revealed, there were indications that the HTC HD7 will launch on October 18 in the UK which could indicate this is also the official launch date of the new Microsoft OS. [Read more…]

iTunes 10 Download Now Available

The iTunes 10 download is now active allowing you to make use of the latest Ping features unveiled at yesterdays Apple [AAPL] event.

For Windows based computers there are two options available for download, either the 32-bit or 64-bit.

Windows iTunes 10 Download

* A PC with a 1GHz Intel or AMD processor
* Intel Pentium D or faster processor is required to play Standard Definition video from the iTunes Store
* 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or faster processor is required to play HD video, an iTunes LP, or iTunes Extras from the iTunes Store
* 512MB of RAM; 1GB is required to play HD video, an iTunes LP, or iTunes Extras
* Screen resolution of 1024×768 or greater; 1280×800 or greater is required to play an iTunes LP or iTunes Extras
* DirectX 9.0-compatible video card with 32MB of video RAM; 64MB recommended
* QuickTime-compatible audio card
* Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store
* iTunes-compatible CD or DVD recorder to create audio CDs, MP3 CDs, or back-up CDs or DVDs

Samsung Galaxy Tab Revealed

After several months of leaks and details about the Samsung Galaxy Tab, it has now been made official.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab will have a 7 inch screen and it will run Android 2.2 (Froyo). The 7 inch tablet is capable of making and receiving both voice and video calls and it has the ability to send text messages, picture messages and email of course.

By including all these features, it makes it in to a large phone which will be made available on both pay as you Go and contract. [Read more…]

Apple AirPlay

Apple AirPlay is a service that lets you stream music around your home over wireless networks. The technology will be integrated in to a number of devices such as speaker docks, AV receivers and stereo systems.

Say you have one set of speakers in your bedroom, one in the office, and one in the living room. For the ultimate sonic panorama, you can stream your tunes to more than one room simultaneously, so you’ll never lose the beat, no matter where you are in the house. Just select “Multiple Speakers” from the speaker pulldown menu in iTunes. AirPlay works over Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection, or a combination of both. So you can stream music directly from your home network if you’re near an Ethernet port or connect wirelessly if you’re not.

Apple Statistics

Today, Apple [AAPL] announced some statistics about the company. Number included the amount of iOS devices being shipped, activated as well as details about the app store and iTunes.

The numbers are quite impressive and show where Apple is as a company and how they have changed over the last 10 years or so since the original iPod launched. [Read more…]

iTunes 10 with Ping Announced

Apple [AAPL] announced iTunes 10 with Ping today. The new version brings a number of new features to the desktop application.

The new iTunes 10 application brings music-orientated social networking to users. Ping lets you post your thoughts and opinions on music and songs that can be shared with other users.

Next Gen Apple TV Announced

Apple [AAPL] had a big line up of product launches today. One of them was the Apple TV that attempts to revamp the older Apple TV service.

Design wise, the Apple TV is 80 percent smaller than the previous model which launched in 2006. The new version has a built in power supply, HDMI, Wifi and an Ethernet port. It has no fan inside making it run completely silent.

Rather than having storage built in, the Apple TV streams content whenever you need it. This is why it has both wireless N built in or an Ethernet cable for those who prefer the wired approach. The HDMI cable and power is the minimum amount of cables that you need to get going with the Apple TV. [Read more…]

iOS 4.2 Brings Printing to iPad

Apple [AAPL] mentioned iOS 4.2 today along with the release date of November for the iPad. One of the new features that has been requested a fair bit is printing. iOS 4.2 brings printing to the iPad.

To print you open up a program like Pages, click the menu at the top and the option to print will be available. When you click print you then can select which printer you want to send the job to along with how many copies you want printing. [Read more…]
