Sony announced earlier today that they will be recalling 1.6 million Sony Bravia TVs soon due to problems where 11 models in Japan had seen some problems. The range of Bravia TVs have a component that in those cases melted down causing damage to the TV although nobody was hurt in any of the incidents.

Sony Tablet S Teardown

The Sony Tablet S is a new device that aims to tackle the iPad. It has a unique form factor and runs the Android operating system. Technical specs show that it has a dual-core processor, 16GB or 32GB of storage, 1GB RAM along with a couple of cameras and wireless connectivity. TechRepublic decided to take it apart to see what makes it run.

Sony has announced that the PlayStation Vita release date in Japan is December 17. At launch there will be 26 games made available either via a download or available on PS Vita cards according to Eurogamer.

Amazon in the UK has begun listing the Sony PlayStation Vita and has made it available for pre-order. Two versions of the Vita have been made available which includes the WiFi version and the 3G version with the former being priced at £229.99 and the latter at £279.99.

The Sony Tablet S is now available for pre-order here in the UK. It is set to launch on September 16th with a price tag starting at £399 for the lower spec model. The device actually went up for pre-order at 4:01pm a couple of days ago, so if you want one pre-ordering now then act quick.

The pre-order availability is an exclusive to the Dixons Group which means you'll be able to pre-order from Currys, PC World or Dixons.co.uk ready for the launch on September 16.

Google is expected to launch Google TV in the UK within the next six months. The GTV service has already been available in the US for a while now on either specifically designed Google TVs or via companion boxes such as the Logitech one which sit between the signal and the TV.
