For those running an Experia X10, you now have an option to install Gingerbread. Before you run and try grab the download, there’s just a few things to point out.
First, this update is not official, so run at your own risk and make sure you follow any instructions. It is best that you avoid if you don’t know what you are doing.

Last week we saw details of the
O2 in the UK will be selling an exclusive White version of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play when it launches in the next couple of months.
It appears that Sony could be following along quite a bit with the PlayStation theme mixed with Android 3.0. Not only has the Xperia Play been announced in the last week, we also hear rumors of a PlayStation Tablet arriving some time this year.
Although we think the Sony NGP (AKA PSP 2) is packed full of features that actually make it very “cool”, we learn now that it could have been better. Sony said in a recent interview that not everything they intended has made it to the PSP 2 so that they could keep the price down to an acceptable level. What that means is that you still will get the NGP you saw a few weeks ago, but had Sony not restricted it to a certain (unknown) price point, it would have been packed with even more features.
As well as the Xperia Play introduced by Sony Ericsson yesterday, the company has also revealed the Xperia Neo and Xperia Pro smartphones. Each of the new devices runs the Google Android operating system which from what the press release says, is the latest which means it’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

This will certainly have the news sites talking today. It appears that the Sony Reader app for iOS was not approved by Apple. Sony spoke to the Times and basically said that its app was blocked by Apple because it allows in app purchases to be made from a different company. If true, it seems that Apple wants all content to be sold through the iTunes store rather from the Sony eBook store.
