May 7, 2008
Have you ever lost your PSP in the dark? If so, maybe you wished it could glow. It can now with these replacement covers. The XCM Magic Night Glow cases attach to the front of your PSP (slim version only) and as slipperybrick put it “Glow like a nuclear accident”. Continue Reading
Is Apple building a handheld Game System?
February 13, 2008

I wasn’t expecting to hear of a patent by Apple with them jumping in to the hand-held gaming arena. The recent application speaks of toys, games and playthings and refers to hand-held units for playing electronic games. This patent interestingly enough follows on from a multi-touch gaming interface also which got many people’s attention.
Apple are doing well with their product launches and maybe this multi touch gaming device could become a PSP beater. No doubt this will spark rumours all over the web followed with artists impressions of what this “iGame” device could look like.

Ugly PSP - XBox Mod
January 21, 2008

A number of hacked gadgets are mentioned on GadgetVenue and this one probably ranks as the weirdest. It’s a cross between an XBox controller and a PSP, or to put it simply, someone has stuck all the XBox controller buttons on to their PSP. I cant work out why yet.

PlayStation 4 to be Backwards Compatible?
January 18, 2008

Rumours have been floating around about Sony and a “potential” Playstation 4 with backwards compatibility. The rumour was sparked by a job offer being advertised where Sony in Japan were looking for a software engineer to tackle backward compatibility on the PS3 and a “next-gen” console. Next-gen could be anything from a new hand-held PSP 2, a PS4 or something else.
Although the PS4 is potentially several years away, could it be that the PS4 will be made available and will it be backwards compatible?

Nintendo DS 2
January 3, 2008

Back in December, Gizmodo created a wishlist about the next Gen Nintendo DS. Phil Nolan, a 3D artist, liked what he saw there and got to work creating a 3D rendering of what a Nintendo DS 2 could look like. Taking ideas from the iPhone, PSP and Wii the DS 2 pictured above was created. As can be seen, the faces of the device are shiny and the screens are larger then the regular DS. If Nintendo took some advice from Phil they would have a killer looking machine.

Power Brick Charger
October 26, 2007

The Power Brick is a new battery device which is high capacity. It has a 2400Mah capacity allowing it to charge a regular mobile phone or iPod about three times before it needs recharging it’s self. It weighs less then 100g and can be charged by USB. Outputs on this device are a plenty too. It comes with “tips” for Nokia (x2), Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Motorola/Blackberry/mini USB, iPod, PSP and digital cameras. Also in the pack is a retractable USB cable which connects the tips to the battery. Full charge can be held for 3 months and the on/off switch is located on the side. So you do not loose all the bits and bobs included, the package comes with a small white case too.
For those who are out and about a lot, this small package could be a nice source of power should you need to make a call and your phone is dead.
It costs just £14.99 also which is not bad considering it contains all the above tips for a ton of devices.
Red Dragon - Virtual Boy Emulator for PSP
October 22, 2007
Back in 1995 Nintendo launched the Virtual Boy which was a weird console displaying 3D graphics. An emulator called Red Dragon has been created allowing you to play those games on your PSP. If you want to try this out and screw your eyes up looking at the freaky visuals then go here and check it out. Just be mindful that this is homebrew type stuff that isn’t fully tested, so use at your own risk. Compatible games are listed after the jump.
