Sprint to Introduct $10 Data Fee for New Customers
Beginning January 30th this year, Sprint will introduce a $10 fee for users of 3G data plans. This fee will apply to new customers only although this might effect customers who come to renew their contract after the said date.
The $10 fee is a monthly charge and is another way to charge users more for data. As we reported earlier today, 10 percent of users are responsible for 90% of the data usage. Rather than going for the 10 percent, which we guess they can’t do if they offered the terms of the contract, Sprint seems to be spreading the charge amongst all 100% of 3G data users. [Read more…]
LG Optimus 2X Can Capture full 1080p Video
We just found out today that the LG Optimus 2X is capable of capturing HD video at 1080p. The new smartphone captures the Full HD with an 8 megapixel camera (video sample below).

Samsung Galaxy S Mini Smartphone Details Leaked
Some information has leaked (including some pictures) of a new Samsung Galaxy S class smartphone. This time, it’s the mini version that has leaked.
The smartphone is called the Samsung Galaxy S Mini and is numbered the S5830. As the name suggests (Mini), it’s a smaller version of the regular Galaxy S in that it has a 3.5 inch display that has a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. [Read more…]
Samsung Vibrant Plus to get 21+ Mbps on 4G
We hear today that when T-Mobile launch the Samsung Vibrant Plus it will connect up to the 4G network, which we already knew, but that it will be capable of transfer speeds of 21+ Mbps which is quite amazing.

Notion Ink Adam Tablet Delayed Again Thanks to FCC Certification
The Notion Ink Adam tablet has faced even more delays. This time the problem is due to the FCC certification details not being ready to be printed on the device. Notion Ink comment that the tablets are ready to ship but that they are not allowed to be shipped until the numbers are printed on the back of each device.

8 Inch KYROS Tablet Detailed
The 8 inch KYROS MID8020 internet tablet was on show this year at CES. The tablet has a 800MHz CPU, a 4:3 aspect screen that is multitouch (800 x 600) and it has 1080p playback via HDMI.
For connectivity, it has WiFi built in. It runs the Android 2.1 operating system although the Android Market doesn’t look to be available. Instead, it will run the AppsLib marketplace which allows you to download the apps you need. [Read more…]
PlayStation Phone Captured on Video
More details of the PlayStation Phone have arrived, thanks to a few leaks here and there.
The leaked details come from a website called IT168 based in China who confirm that inside is a Snapdragon processor running at 1GHz. Also, it runs a Qualcomm Adreno 205 GPU. The smartphone/portable games device has been benchmarked at just below 60 frames per second.
The memory on the PlayStation Phone is 512MB RAM and 512MB ROM and it has a microSD card slot for storage purposes. [Read more…]
Dell Venue in US Will be Sold Unlocked
Dell has officially announced that the Dell Venue will be made available to those in the US. The company announced it over at CES 2011 in a press conference that was held. In that meeting, Dell also confirmed that right now they have no carrier partners which means the smartphone will be made available on the Dell.com website.
With no carrier partners, it also means that the device will be sold unlocked. A T-Mobile version might happen from what they’ve said, but the unlocked version wont work on the T-Mobile 3G bands. [Read more…]
More HTC Thunderbolt 4G Pictures Arrive
More pictures of the HTC Thunderbolt 4G have been captured and put online just before the expected official announcement at CES 2011.
What has been learned from the hands-on with the HTC Thunderbolt 4G is firstly, that the battery seems very bad although that could potentially be fixed with a few software tweaks. We also learn that it has an ARM v7 processor with a Single Core running at 1GHz.
Other details show it has 8GB of internal memory along with the ability to add another 32GB to the device via a microSD card. The device has a 4.3 inch screen. [Read more…]
