Addictaball Finally Arrives in the UK

Addictaball is the UK version of what the US call Superplexus. It’s a handheld puzzle game that requires you carefully manoeuvre a ball bearing around a 360 degree puzzle along a pre determined track.

Addictaball comes in two different sizes with the larger one measuring 19cm in diameter and the smaller, 13cm that’s aimed to be an on the road type game (obviously not while travelling as it’s hard enough sitting still to navigate the ball around the maze).

it takes serious hand-eye co-ordination to steer your ball through Addictaball’s handily numbered sections (138 sections for the large, 100 for the small). We guarantee you’ll be cursing this unputdownable sphere’s devious nature and pulling faces worthy of a champion gurner in under a minute

For some this might not be a problem, but for others, the reason for getting an Android based phone is to give you the flexibility to do what you want with the device in terms of installing apps sometimes not through the Android Market.

As well as blocking access to this feature we also mentioned last week that AT&T had removed Google [GOOG] as the primary search function on the phone replacing it with Yahoo! instead. [Read more…]

Motorola Multi Screen Patent Revealed

Motorola have filed a patent that aims to bring several mobile phones together to make one larger screen. The patent refers to this practice as a “Reconfigurable Multiple-Screen Display” and allows “multiple” phones to be put together.

It seems like the reasoning behind it is that people are not happy carrying a small screen around with them… so this would allow them to connect up all the phones together. Problem is that nobody I know carries four phones around with them kind of making it a problem. Assuming that all phones need to be Motorola too it could also cause a problem as none of my friends have a Motorola phone. [Read more…]

The latest specification allows devices with smaller batteries to utilise Bluetooth. Previous versions of BT required that a device had at lease a AAA or larger capacity battery to function. The new 4.0 specifications allow for smaller devices that require coin-cell batteries to run.

As well as utilising less power, the device also has higher speed data transfer. Version 3.0 was launched last year although it kind of fell flat on it’s face due to the power requirements needed. Version 4.0 fixes those problems. [Read more…]
