The Samsung Focus was announced today. The Focus is a new Windows Phone 7 device that has a price tag of $199.99 and will launch sometime in the middle of November.

The Focus has a 4 inch screen and uses Samsungs Super AMOLED display technology to create a crystal clear screen. A smudge and scratch resistant coating has been covered over the screen to prevent damage to the device. This in turn, keeps the Focus’ screen clear from damage. [Read more…]

Windows Phone 7 Release Date Could be October 21 in UK

Some leaked documents of a UK carriers roadmap reveal that October 21 is the release date for Windows Phone 7.

The actual phone appears to be called the Windows 7Phone and has a launch date of 21st Oct according to the document. It is listed in between the Samsung Europa and a BlackBerry device. A few technical specs have been revealed showing that this particular device will have a 4 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen, a 5 megapixel camera as well as access to over 2000 apps at launch in the Windows Marketplace. Motorola CITRUS Andoird Smartphone Announced

The Motorola CITRUS is another Android based smartphone although this particular model runs the older Android 2.1 OS rather than the latest Froyo version.

The Motorola CITRUS has been designed to work on the Verizon [VZ] network and has a 3 inch screen with a QVGA resolution. Memory wise, it has 100MB of user space and a 2GB pre-installed microSD card. The 2GB card can be replaced with a card up to 32Gb in capacity.

Motorola Spice Android Smatphone Announced

Motorola [MOT] has announced the Motorola Spice. The Spice is a portrait slider QWERTY device that runs the Android 2.1 operating system. It has a 3 megapixel camera on the back that has a fixed focus and 8x digital zoom.

Memory wise, the camera has 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM and it also has a microSD card slot allowing for a further 32GB of storage to be added.

For connectivity it has Bluetooth 2.0+EDR as well as Wireless at 802.11b/g. [Read more…]

In Chiba, Japan, NTT DoCoMo (Japan’s largest mobile carrier) have put on show something pretty impressive that could quite possibly revolutionise 3D gaming.

Samsung Galaxy Tab UK Price Revealed

After a month or more of waiting, Samsung has now revealed the price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab in the UK. SIM free the Galaxy Tab will cost £599.99 which makes it around £70 more than the equivalent iPad 3G+WiFi model.

Although its difficult to put the two together in terms of features, a lot of people still use the iPad as a benchmark for pricing. In this case the Tab is higher although you do get cameras and the ability to use it as a phone should you wish. [Read more…]

iPhone ZX Spectrum Emulator

The ZX Spectrum launched back in the early 80s and with it, a number of games launched over the years that it was popular. Games included the likes of Chuckie Egg, Turbo Esprit amongst many other games.

Sony and TomTom Create New Navigation System

Sony and TomTom have created a new set of satnav systems that combine the expertise of each company to create an all-round “potentially” good navigation and audio system for cars.

The new models are the XNV-770BT and the XNV-660BT. The 770BT model has a 7 inch screen a dnt eh 660BT has a 6.1 inch screen.

The AV side of the system is controlled by Sony and is capable of creating a virtual 5.1 setup. Each unit has a capacitive touchscreen. [Read more…]

Custom MacBook Tablet Conversion – $50

This MacBook Tablet mod cost around $50 to build. Getting it working required just a touchscreen to be purchased which from what Gizmodo report, it costs $50. Other than that it’s just a matter of soldering bits together (carefully).

The new touchscreen added to the device is basically sunk in to the lid of the laptop. This essentially means that a lot of hacking and cutting up the MacBook needed to be done, but as can be seen, the results aren’t too bad at all. [Read more…]

A number of companies are trying to get Android based tablets launched on to the market. Some make it, some don’t. This next one aims to lower the price by introducing the tablet at just £179.99.

The tablet is called the disgo Tablet 6000 and has a 7 inch screen in a WVGA format. The OS running on the tablet is Android 2.1.

The Acer Aspire All-In-One range has just added a new device to the list. The new model is the AZ3100-U3072.

This particular model has a 21.5 inch display that supports full HD at 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels).

Samsung Galaxy Tab UK Launch Date – November 1

Samsung has announced that the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be launching in the UK on November 1. All major networks will get the Galaxt Tab on launch day although Samsung have still yet to reveal the price tag.

We know that Amazon, Expansys and others will sell a SIM free Tab for £600 – £700, but as for carrier pricing, we really have no idea what plans are just yet. When carriers do announce pricing it will be the usual subsidised price tags that decrease as you are willing to commit to a higher plan. [Read more…]
