This MacBook Tablet mod cost around $50 to build. Getting it working required just a touchscreen to be purchased which from what Gizmodo report, it costs $50. Other than that it’s just a matter of soldering bits together (carefully).
The new touchscreen added to the device is basically sunk in to the lid of the laptop. This essentially means that a lot of hacking and cutting up the MacBook needed to be done, but as can be seen, the results aren’t too bad at all.
