It’s widely known that mobile phone cameras aren’t that great at taking pictures in anything but standard conditions with a still subject. A Flickr user named cnflikt decided to create his own macro lens to his phone to capture some decent close-up shots.
To create the DIY macro lens cnflikt used a focusing lens from an old DVD player and then mounted the said lens to a cardboard cut-out. Once created the lens was attached to a Sony Ericsson K800i and then was ready for testing. [Read more…]
The GPS watch houses 4-in-1 GPS features that let you track your location anywhere on the globe. The watch, as well as telling the time, allows you to track your location, acts as a data logger, photo tagger and a receiver.
The GPS watch can be used for tracking your car by the push of a button. It works by using intelligent LED’s that point you in the right direction back to your car or any other point of interest that you may have logged.
When you are walking back to your car the 360 degree directional lights on the watch will tell you which direction you should be walking. And then when you come within 50 meters of the saved location, the arrows around the watch face will begin flashing, and when you are within 15 meters the arrows will turn blue. The Varta Digital battery charger is a device that acts as a normal battery charger in that you plug it in to the wall to charge AA and AAA batteries. However, it also has a 12V car adapter so that you can charge batteries on the go. To make even more useful the Varta also has a USB port that allows you to use your PC to charge the batteries.

This bat cave home cinema was built by Frankston HiFi and was built from the ground up starting right at the carpet. Walls we then created carefully to make them look as realistic as possible. The room measures 26ft x 18ft making it fairly large.
On the technical side of things the bat cave cinema has a 10ft curved screen along with a communications room that holds all the audio and video equipment needed to run the room. A remote controlled pneumatic sliding door allows access to the room when needed although there are no poles to slide down for access. [Read more…]
Dell have revealed details on their latest laptop named the Dell Inspiron 11z. The Dell 11z is powered by a 1.2GHz Intel Celeron 723 CULV processor, has an integrated graphics chip and an 11.6 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.
The price tag is $399 for the starting model which runs Windows Vista Home Premium and comes with 2GB of RAM. [Read more…]

MSI are working on a series of touchscreen netbooks that are planned for a late this year launch. The netbooks will be powered by the Intel Pine Trail-M platform.

After many months of delays the Garmin-Asus nuvifone M20 is finally launching over in Taiwan. The Garmin-Asus partnership were launching 2 nuvifones with the other one being the G60 which ran a proprietary OS. The G60 was launched last month and now it’s time for the N20 which runs on Windows Mobile and is aimed more at the business user.
The nuvifone M20 features HSDPA, a VGA display, 3 megapixel camera and as can be expected, extensive navigation features thanks to the Garmin part of the partnership. [Read more…]
Atomic Floyd are a premium audio company that create some amazing looking earphones. The latest in their list to be released are called TwistJax and feature a unique twisting section on each earphone to allow them to sit more comfortably in any shaped ear.
The earphones are made of very thin metal which allows for a larger acoustic chamber that further enhances the sound quality. The wires are covered in a nylon surrounding making them pretty much tangle free which is a very welcomed feature. The 3.5mm earphone jack is covered in 24 carat gold to further enhance quality. A mystery Android MID was spotted last week. The creators of this MID are unknown but yet, there are more photos to see of this nice looking android based device.
The design looks similar to that of an Apple product in that it has a smooth front face with a screen quite close to the edges giving a very thin bezel around the edge. A chrome edging can also be seen around the edges on to the back cover. [Read more…]
