ASUS Eee EP121 Slate Launches

ASUS has launched the Eee EP121 Slate. This particular tablet device runs the Windows 7 operating system.

The screen measures 12.1 inches and has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. The screen is also capacitive and has an electromagnetic panel that allows a stylus to be used for more precise input. [Read more…]

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Available in April

For those of you in the UK, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc will be launched in April this year. The new smartphone will be launched on the Three network although the exact date and pricing have not yet been revealed.

Apple Looking for iOS Photography Engineer for iPad and Mac

Apple has posted a new job listing requesting for an iOS Photography Software Engineer to join the team. The job description explains that the person will be responsible for creating software for the iPad and Mac platforms in the area of Photography. It hints at iPhoto and Aperture on the Mac platform which in turn, could be ported over to the iPad in some shape or form.

Strong skills in HTML5 and CSS are also requested which also hints at some sort of web based service for photos. In iOS 4.3, some have noted that a photo stream feature has been referenced in the Beta versions which in turn, hint that some sort of service that pulls down pictures from the web to the iPad could be a possibility. HTC Pyramid Rumor – Dual Core Superphone Coming to T-Mobile

Details of a new phone from HTC have leaked. This new device is codenamed the HTC Pyramid and is expected to run a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The processor is from Qualcomm and is the MSM8260. We also hear that the device will have a 4.3 inch qHD display.

The device is expected to be compatible on HSPA+ networks and will be launched on the T-Mobile network in May 2011. [Read more…]

Android 3.0 Honeycomb Event Uploaded to Youtube

Yesterday saw the official unveiling of Android 3.0 Honeycomb. This new version of Android 3.0 has been designed for tablet computers although we heard recently that it isn’t restricted to just tablets.

The unveiling has been uploaded to YouTube and in the video, you’ll get to see the Motorola Xoom tablet demonstrated along with a number of features such as how the email system works. Google also describe a new system that Google calls fragments. Fragments are used to put together apps so that when Android 3.0 runs on a smaller device, parts can easily be pulled out such as the preview pane when on a smaller screen. [Read more…]

Google Android Market Web Store Goes Online

After a few years of waiting, Google has now launched a web store for the Android Market. The new webstore allows Android phone users to browse around various apps and click a button to install them on their Android smartphone or tablet.

To get it to work, you just need to register your handset or tablet with the Android Market web store and once done, you can then click to buy (or grab free) apps and via OTA, they are sent to your device. [Read more…]

The Daily goes on sale in the US iTunes store today (launched about 20 minutes ago), and is published daily every single day of the year. T-Mobile G-Slate with 8.9 Inch Screen and Tegra 2 Unveiled

T-Mobile has announced the LG G-Slate. This particular tablet has an 8.9 inch screen and runs an NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. The operating system that will run on the G-Slate is Android 3.0.

The 8.9 inch screen has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels allowing users to watch 720p HD video. A unique feature of this particular tablet is that it has a couple of cameras on the back capable of capturing 3D pictures. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy S 4G Announced by T-Mobile

T-Mobile has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy S 4G smartphone. Many people already knew that this particular smartphone was coming to T-Mobile, but now it has been officially confirmed.

The Galaxy S 4G is capable of connecting up to T-Mobiles 4G network which they say has a theoretical peak download speed of up to 21Mbps.

Android 2.2 is installed on this particular smartphone and it comes with a 1GHz processor, a 4 inch Super AMOLED screen and 16GB of internal memory.

iOS 4.3 Beta 3 Download Now Available for Developers

Apple has made iOS 4.3 beta 3 available to developers for download. The download became available last night and is the next step to bringing the final version for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch owners to download.

The version number is 8F5166b and comes two weeks after the beta 2 launch. This particular version works on the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch with a second version of it being made available for Apple TV owners. [Read more…]

Google Chrome Takes 10 Percent Browser Share

The Google Chrome browser is growing in market share recently and now accounts for 10 percent share of the browser market last month.

On the other side of the scale, Internet Explorer from Microsoft is still sliding and has dropped to 56 percent and although that’s still an impressive share of the market, the fact that it’s sliding is something for Microsoft to be concerned about. One thing to note though is that Internet Explorer 9 will also be launching soon which from what we have seen of the browser, could make Microsoft start to gain traction again. [Read more…]
