Windows Mobile 6.5 (Windows Phone) is just about to launch in a few weeks time on October 6th, but already there is talk of the next version of Windows Phone which is version 7. The new version should be available sometime next year and features more Social Networks integration.

The Social Networking features of the Windows Phone will allow direct interaction between the phone and social networking so that when you load up the phone it is based at communicating with friends and keeping in contact more. Integration of news feeds will also be included which allows you to switch on the phone and see all the news and details you want right on the phone rather than having to search for them. The latest iphone Pwnage Tool has been launched. It is numbered 3.1 and it supports Jailbreaking of the iPhone OS 3.1. However, it can only unlock the 1st gen iphone, iPod Touch and iPhone 3G (not the iPhone 3G S).

This is the low down on our tools for use with the 3.1 firmware from Apple, please read the whole post in full before attempting anything. Because of changes with Apple’s update techniques (that complicate the 3GS upgrade process) this will be a multipart release. This release starts with PwnageTool 3.1 for Mac OS X this application supports the iPhone 1st Generation (2G), the iPhone 3G and the iPod touch 1G. The HTC Leo has finally been pictured in decent quality. When it was first spotted it looked a tad fake. Well, as can be seen it is definitely real and has an impressive 4.3″ capacitive touchscreen. For reference, the phone next to it has a 3.6″ screen.

The HTC Leo will run Windows Mobile 6.5 when launched (known now as Windows Phone) and will have a 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash, a 1GHz Qualcomm 8250B processor and will measure just 11mm in thickness. [Read more…]

A great application for Android based phones has been created. It is called Nebudroid and it turns your Android phone in to an NES controller that works with NES emulators and also racing games on the PC.

As well as having the standard D pad and a couple of buttons it also makes use of the accelerometers built in to the phone and can then be used as a steering wheel allowing you to more realistically drive around a track in a game. [Read more…]

After many months of delays the Garmin-Asus nuvifone M20 is finally launching over in Taiwan. The Garmin-Asus partnership were launching 2 nuvifones with the other one being the G60 which ran a proprietary OS. The G60 was launched last month and now it’s time for the N20 which runs on Windows Mobile and is aimed more at the business user.

The nuvifone M20 features HSDPA, a VGA display, 3 megapixel camera and as can be expected, extensive navigation features thanks to the Garmin part of the partnership. [Read more…]

Normally when you hear of HTC and the G1, G2, Magic, Hero or whatever else you automatically think Android as those ranges of phones by HTC are specifically built for the Android OS.

We then came across the Windows Mobile Version HTC G2 and something about it just doesn’t seem right. The phone, which is pretty much a clone, will be powered by a Huawei K3 460MHz processor, support quadband connectivity on GSM and EDGE and the weird thing is that it’s Windows Mobile 6.1 based.
