Clickfree had their latest gadget on show at CES called the Clickfree C2N. The C2N is a step up from the original Clickfree C2 in that it can now backup files on computers connected to a local network. Clickfree make the backup process simple and all that is required at a basic level is that you connect the drive up to a USB port on a PC, Laptop or Mac. When connected some software will autoload and files will be backed up.
The new network backups work by connecting the drive up to each PC on the network just once. When this is complete you can connect the Clickfree C2N to any of the computers and it will seek out all PC’s on the network and backup their files in to the one location. [Read more…]
At CES, Kodak had their Kodak PlaySport Zx3 camcorder on show that is capable of capturing HD video at 1080p. The camera is similar to the Zi8 and has many of the same features but now with added ruggedness as well as being waterproof up to 3 meters.
Casio have created a new projector called the Casio XJ-A series that aims to be “clean and green” according to their press release. The projector achieves this by using laser LED hybrids rather than mercury lamps. The projector is capable of up to 3000 lumens brightness.
Sony have introduced a new notebook called the Sony VAIO Y Series. The Y Series VAIO features an Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 processor running at 1.3GHz. It runs the Windows 7 Home Professional 64-bit operating system. The screen measures 13.3 inches and is backlit by LED. The LED screen is capable of showing a 1366 x 768 pixel image. For memory it has 4GB of RAM and for storage a 500GB hard drive.
3M are launching a new multitouch screen that measures 22 inches and is capable of capturing input from up to 10 fingers. The screen is called the M2256PW and runs at a high-definition resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels. The new LCD screen is aimed at professionals and professional consumers who are looking for true multi-touch compatibility.
The Pioneer AVIC X920BT is an in-car satnav system designed for a double-DIN slot. It has a large 6.1 inch screen that has a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels and is touch-screen too. Above the screen a slot loading CD drive can be found next to a microSD slot I guess for using a card full of MP3 audio files to play while on the move.
Sony have launched new portable cameras called the MHS-CM5 and the MHS-PM5. The MHS-CM5 is pictured above and features a pistol grip with a swivel out 2.5 inch LCD screen. The camera is capable of HD video and has 5x optical zoom. The HD side of things on both cameras allows it to capture video in full HD 1080p at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Each camera has face detection and can be charged via USB.
D-Link have announced a new wireless N pocket router that as the name suggests, is pocket sized allowing it to be packed up for travel. The router is capable of creating a wireless N network (802.11n) or can be used as an AP as part of an existing wired network.

Buffalo have revealed their latest external harddrive called the HD-AVU2. The drive connects to a computer via USB 2.0 and is available in four capacities of 500GB, 1TB, 1.5TB and 2TB.
AirStash is a wireless device that allows you to keep a wireless flash drive in your pocket for expanding the memory of gadgets such as iPhones and iPod Touch’s. The device looks similar to a large flash drive and has a USB connector on one side as well as an SD card slot on the other.
