The Asus Eee PC 701 is a netbook that launched a couple of years ago. It had a 7 inch screen when launched and kick started the netbook scene to what it is today.
This particular Asus Eee 701 has been modded and changed in to a tablet form factor. The guy responsible goes by the name of McG and took the Eee apart, made a few modifications inside and put it back together.
Since everything did work well, he went ahead and began to use it for the function it was originally designed for: to read eBooks, watching movies made by DVD Shrink, and to use as a portable media player. In case you would want to mod your EeePC, you could also choose better Touchscreen drivers with 90 deg, 180 deg and 270 orientations.
Lenovo submitted a WiMAX equipped Lenovo ThinkPad Mini 10 to the FCC for approval in late April.
Dell has launched a new laptop called the Dell Inspiron M501R. This laptop is powered by an AMD Phenom II X4 processor making it quite powerful in terms of processing power.

ASUS has announced two new netbooks called the ASUS Eee 1015P and the 1015PE. Each are fairly standard netbooks running the usual Intel Atom N450 processor. The screens on each device measure 10.1 inches and are backlit by LED. The resolution is 1024×600 pixels.
VentureBeat are reporting that Acer are set to launch new Chrome OS based devices in as little as two weeks. The new devices (we assume netbooks and maybe smartbooks) will be launched at Computex that is being held in Taipei from June 1 to June 5.
Intel has revealed that they will be delivering an alternative to the Apple iPad and other tablet based devices.

We first heard of the ASUS Eee 1215N a few weeks back where only a few details were known such as it running an Intel Atom N500 dual-core processor along with an ION GPU and NVIDIA Optimus. The dual-core N500 CPU will run at 1.5GHz.
ASUS are always creating new netbooks in their Eee range. Some we know about that are coming soon include the ASUS Eee 1015, 1215 and 1218 although we haven’t heard anything on pricing till now.
ASUS are launching another netbook. This wont come as a surprise as we tend to mention several new models each month from their Eee range.
