Microsoft Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010 Officially Launched

Microsoft [MSFT] has officially launched Microsoft Office 2010 along with SharePoint 2010, Visio 2010 and Project 2010 and made it available to business customers.

If you remember back a few weeks, Office 2010 was first made available to MSDN and TechNet subscribers. This next phase moves one step closer to the full launch that will be see the 2010 product range launching June 15.

Prices of Office 2010 and other software in the suite will range from $99 all the way up to $499 depending on which version of Office you choose. [Read more…]

Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Heading to Vodafone UK

Last week we came across information indicating that Vodafone in the UK could be getting the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini. This has now been confirmed by a coming soon page on the Vodafone online store.

The X10 Mini from Sony Ericsson is an Android OS phone that has a small 2.5 inch screen (hence the Mini name). It has a 5 megapixel camera on the back and also has a built in GPS. For connectivity it will connect to 3G and HSDPA networks and also has Bluetooth and WiFi available for connections to the web if needed. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy S 16GB Heading to Vodafone UK

As well as launching the Samsung Wave on to the Vodafone network in the UK, Vodafone is also bringing the Samsung Galaxy S 16GB to the network as well.

The Samsung Galaxy S was also announced several months ago and runs a very powerful GPU capable of moving a high amount of triangles on screen. The phone it’s self runs Google Android 2.1, it has the Samsung Super AMOLED screen to provide a HD resolution. It is also exclusive to Vodafone.

The Super AMOLED screen measures 4 inches. The camera on the back is capable of capturing pictures at 5 megapixels. Other features of the phone also include GPS, WiFi for connectivity as well as 3G and HSDPA. [Read more…]

Samsung Wave Heading to Vodafone UK

Today, Vodafone added several new smartphones to their online store and have put coming soon pages up for each of them. The first of the smartphones is the Samsung Wave.

The Samsung Wave was first announced back in February. It uses the Samsung Super AMOLED display that provides a HD resolution screen. The camera is capable of capturing images at 5 megapixels. The smartphone also includes GPS.

The Samsung Wave uses the Samsung Bada OS that heavily revolves around social networking by allowing you to add live updates from Twitter and other social networking sites direct on the home page. [Read more…]

HTC EVO 4G Landing June 4 for $199

We finally have official news about the HTC EVO 4G and the launch date. The 4G smartphone will be made available on June 4 with a price tag of $199 on contract. The phone will cost an extra $10/month though on top of a service plan to connect up to the higher speed network – Update: This $10/month is for those wanting to get rid of download limits. Also, for wireless sharing mentioned below, that’s an extra $30/month which Sprint point out is cheaper than buying a mobile broadband connection.

The HTC EVO 4G is the first 4G smartphone being launched in America. The 4G network being used is provided through Sprint who run the network across a number of States in the US with more coverage being added through out the coming years.

The HTC EVO 4G has two cameras built in with one facing forwards for video calls and the other facing backwards to capture photos while out and about. The rear facing camera can capture images at 8 megapixels while the front camera is 1.3 megapixels. It runs Android 2.1 and has full access to over 35,000 apps found in the Android Market. Intel to Build Tablet Devices – Will go on show at Computex 2010

Intel has revealed that they will be delivering an alternative to the Apple iPad and other tablet based devices.

The information comes from Mooly Eden who is the vice president of the PC client group.

Intel ‘are going to design silicon for the tablet segment and will ‘actively participate in the market.

‘People ask me, are you serious about trying to participate in the tablet market? The answer is yes, we are going to have tablets ¦ stay tuned for Computex. Eye-Fi 4GB Geo X2 WiFi SDHC Card Begins Shipping

The Geo X2 Eye-Fi card has begun shipping in the US. For some reason, the Apple [AAPL] store has exclusive rights on selling the product and today, is now shipping it to those who have pre-ordered it.

The Eye-Fi Geo X2 has 4GB of storage space along with WiFi connectivity built in allowing the easy transfer of files whilst the card is in the camera. The Geo X2 is a Class 6 SDHC card allowing cameras and other gadgets to write up to 6MB/s to the card.

The wireless built in to the Geo X2 works on 802.11b/g/n networks. Auto-geotagging is also built in allowing all photos captured by a camera to be tagged with the location is was shot in. [Read more…]

ASUS EeeKeyboard Now Shipping

Amazon are finally starting to ship the ASUS EeeKeyboard. This comes months from the initial announcement with some people thinking it would actually never happen.

Either way, you can now grab one from Amazon costing $599 with free super saver shipping.

The ASUS EeeKeyboard is a unique device that actually puts a computer in the keyboard. Powering the keyboard is an Intel Atom N270 processor. It has 1GB of DDR2 memory and it runs Windows XP Home.

A transmitter is included that can communicate with an external receiver allowing you to connect the keyboard up to a HDTV wirelessly. The keyboard also has wireless LAN that can connect up to 802.11b/g/n networks. Wired LAN is also included for 10/100/1000 connections. Bluetooth 2.1 is also included. [Read more…]

Vodafone Apple iPad microSIM Now Available

For those of you in the UK who are ordering an Apple iPad 3G model, Vodafone now have their microSIM cards available on the site to grab. The microSIM is free and is available on two tariffs.

When ordering the microSIM your card will be delivered right away although to use it you’ll need to wait till May 28 when the iPad is delivered, or have a US model imported.

The contract for Vodafone microSIM cards is just 1 month and this can be cancelled/activated at any time by calling them. [Read more…]

Orange and T-Mobile form Everything Everywhere

About two months ago we heard that Orange and T-Mobile in the UK were to join forces and merge together. Since then there has been no information until today where we now hear that both Orange and T-Mobile will be joined together and run from the name Everything Everywhere.

A bizarre name if you ask me, but the name was chosen to indicate that two networks working together will offer just that.

The company called Everything Everywhere¢ will run two of Britain’s most famous brands, Orange and T-Mobile, and has a customer base of 30 million people: over half of the UK adult population.

The two brands (Orange and T-Mo) will continue to operate independently in that you will still see Orange and T-Mobile shops on the high street, but behind the scenes they will be called Everything Everywhere. [Read more…]

Motorola Flipout Android OS Smartphone – More Pics Revealed

The Motorola Flipout is a new smartphone that runs the Android 2.1 operating system. The phone it’s self is a square that flips open to reveal a QWERTY keyboard underneath. On the front of the Flipout is a 2.8 inch screen. The Android 2.1 operating system appears to be running MotoBLUR allowing for easy access to social networking features from the home screen.

Other features of the Motorola Flipout include GPS, a 3.1 megapixel camera although there is no mention of wifi for connectivity at the moment.

Either way, it’s a unique looking phone that will appeal to some people. When launched, it will come in three different colours. [Read more…]

How to Change back to Old Google

Last week, Google [GOOG] changed the layout of their search engine results pages by introducing a left sidebar that brings a number of “refining” features to your searches such as being able to search for products, blogs, images etc…

Other changes included slight modifications to the fonts, images and general layout of the results. However, a number of people do not seem so keen on the changes made and prefer the older familiar version. If that’s you then Google has provided a link where you can access the old results.

The main problem is that this older interface link doesn’t seem to be permanent and Google hasn’t mentioned if and when the old style search will be removed. [Read more…]
