The new name comes as the phone will be heavily integrated with Windows 7 on a 3 screen strategy that they have working within the cloud. When a user leaves their PC at the desk to go out and about the cloud setup will allow the user to access everything they need while on the move in effect, taking the PC in a phone with them. Acer Aspire One gets Full HD Upgrade

acer_netbook_broadcom_bcm70012_hd_upgradeNetbooks tend to struggle with HD video thanks to Intel’s GMA 950 graphics chip. What they could really do with is a Broadcom BCM70012 video accelerator that is capable of handling up to 1080p full HD resolutions.

The Broadcom BCM70012 is a mini PCI-e card that takes the strain off of the internal CPU. Not many netbooks actually come with this cool chip though (probably to cut costs down), so Terracode have upgraded their own Acer Aspire One 8.9″ netbook to include this chip. [Read more…]

Apple Tablet set for September Launch

apple-tabletAccording to the FT, Apple could be launching the Apple Tablet in September along with some new iPods and some new iTunes features created for those items.

Apple are wanting to offer a portable and full featured tablet sized device ready for this Christmas. It will feature a 10 inch touchscreen and run the iPhone OS. Connectivity to the net will be over Wi-fi making it function like a large iPod Touch. [Read more…]
