With the launch of iOS 5 there’s a bunch of features that are being discovered as more users update their iPhones. One of those is the new camera functionality. We already know of the double tap on the lock screen to get to launch the camera. We also know that the up volume button can also act as the shutter button. What we learn today is that the headphone volume control can also be used as a shutter button.

iOS 5 Traffic Surprises Some ISPs
iOS 5 was rolled out yesterday and when it did, it caught one ISP (probably a lot more who haven’t admitted it) by surprise. The update page of that ISP has the following statements posted:
Speaktoit for Android Sees Downloads Increase 400% on Siri Announcement
Speaktoit is an app for Android which works in a similar way to what Siri does on the iPhone 4S. It essentially lets you use natural language to communicate with your Android smartphone. Since the unveiling of Siri integration on the iPhone 4S, Speaktoit has seen the number of downloads increase 400% to about 3000 per day at the moment.
Speaktoit is similar to Siri in that it lets you use natural language to talk and command your Android smartphone. What also makes it similar is that it also understands context from what we have been told.
Apple Launches AirPort Utility for iOS 5
Preparations are still under way for the launch of iOS 5 in the next few hours. Earlier today iCloud went online followed by Find My Friends and now the launch of the AirPort Utility for iOS 5 has happened.
iCloud Now Open for All
Apple [AAPL] has now opened the iCloud.com service to all Apple users. To access it you simply navigate to icloud.com and enter your Apple ID along with your password. It requires that you are using iOS 5 on your iPad or iPhone so for those not in the developer program you’ll just need to wait a few more hours for Apple to push out the final build around the globe.
Facebook for iPad Launches
Facebook has just released an update for the Facebook App which now makes it compatible with the iPad. The new update is version 4.0 and is compatible on both the iPad and the iPhone. The Facebook app for is a much welcomed update for many who have requested an iPad version over the past 18 months.
iOS 5 Release Date is October 12
iOS 5 has been available to developers for a few months now. A number of new features are included such as better notifications, reminders and various other features. When Apple [AAPL] took the stage today they announced the iOS 5 release date as October 12 which is this time next week.
Twitter is Prepared for iOS 5 Launch
We will shortly see the launch of iOS 5 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. When it launches, one of the new features will be Twitter integration. You might be asking what Twitter is doing to prepare for iOS 5… the answer is not much at all.

A new Skype update has been released for iOS devices that brings a number of new features. On the plus side, yes there is a negative for some users, Skype has allowed Bluetooth Headset support as well as video stabilisation for calls. Automattic has released a new version of WordPress for iOS devices. The app is free and is compatible with the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

3M MP180 Pocket Projector Review
This week we are taking a look at a pico projector from 3M, the MP180 model to be exact. The pocket sized projector isn’t the smallest we’ve seen, but does measure in at 65x33x150mm making it easy enough to fit in a pocket. It weighs 338 grams which also isn’t the lightest, but comfortable enough to carry around.
Other specs show that it uses DLP projection technology and has a native resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. The lamp life is rated at 20,000 hours and the brightness is rated at 30 ANSI Lumens. It also has 4GB of memory built in, a 2 hour battery and a microSD card slot. Lets take a look and see if it’s any good.
Google Mobile Searches Made up of 66% iOS
All three of the major search engines bid to become the default on iOS devices, but as most of you will know, Google is the default option on the iPad and iPhone. It has now become apparent that 2/3rds of all mobile searches actually come from iOS devices.
