NikeWoman Training Club for iPhone Updated

Nike has launched a number of apps for iOS based devices, more specifically for the iPhone and iPod touch. These include Nike+ GPS, Nike BOOM as well as a number of Football apps. The latest is the NikeWoman Training Club app that acts as a personal trainer for users.

Best Buy has discounted the Samsung Galaxy Tab on the Verizon network. The new price brings it down from $599.99 right down to $499.99. This price is for the Samsung Galaxy Tab off contract.

Android Pantech Vega X Launches

Pantech is launching the Pantech Vega X smartphone this week over in South Korea. The device will be landing on the KT and LG telecom networks.

After a 2 day delay, the Google Nexus S is now available in the UK to buy. The Nexus S is currently available at the Carphone Warehouse where a couple of different price points are available. DocuScan Document and Photo Scanner

The DocuScan is a document and photo scanner that allows you to quickly scan pictures and documents to your computer.

The scanner has a resolution of 300 DPI and also comes with an SD card slot allowing you to scan documents without connecting it up to a computer. Gran Turismo 5 Update Now Available

Since the launch of Gran Turismo 5 on the PlayStation 3, a couple of updates have arrived to fix the odd problem here and there. This new update is rather large though in that it’s a 600MB download and brings a number of new features to the game.

Windows Phone 7 Sales Figures Announced

Microsoft [MSFT] has finally announced the Windows Phone 7 sales figures although they are not the exact numbers we are looking for. Instead of providing the number of units sold to end users, Microsoft has provided the number of sales to carriers and retailers.

The Windows Phone 7 sales numbers show 1.5 million devices being sold globally. This might sound like quite a lot, but one thing you have to remember here is that 60 carriers in 30 countries are now selling the device which dramatically reduces the amount per country and network. [Read more…]

Nexus S Rooting Encouraged by Google

An interesting article went live at the Android Developers website yesterday called “It’s not “rooting”, it’s openness “. What this is referring to is the ability to customise Android based smartphones as users with rather than forcing them to break in to the device.

The post at Android Developers was inspired by a comment made at Engadget that said “Nexus S has been rooted, let the madness commence!”. A comment then went to say that Android security was bad and that’s why the Nexus S was rooted so quickly. [Read more…]

Motorola Tablet with Android 3.0 at CES 2011

Motorola has created a video teaser called the “Tablet Evolution”. The ad is preparing for the unveiling of the Motorola Android 3.0 tablet and explains that it will be revealed at CES 2011.

The video starts by showing various tablets from thousands of years ago and says they are too heavy to carry around and have low res screens. Moving on a few thousand years to now, the iPad is next in line that is described as a giant iPhone… a couple of times. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Could get NVIDIA Tegra 2 Chipset

Reports today are indicating that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 could sport an NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset when the tablet launches next year.

The rumors come from a semiconductor analyst called Ambrish Srivastava from BMO Capital Markets who suggests that the Galaxy Tab 2 as well as many other similar devices will come with that chipset installed. [Read more…]

Nexus S Release Date Delayed in UK – Now December 22

We all expected that the Carphone Warehouse would have the Google Nexus S ready for sale today. However, the release date for the smartphone has now been shifted a couple of days from the 20th (today) to the 22nd December.

No official reasons have been given for the delays although we suspect its the weather that simply delayed shipments from reaching Carphone Warehouse stores around the country over the last few days. [Read more…]
