iPod touch 4 Case Mockup

Apple [AAPL] could be launching a new iPod touch 4 in the next month or so. The reason for this belief is that a photo illustration of an iPod touch 4 in a case has been revealed that indicates a new version with a camera is coming.

What happens here is that Apple send out technical specs (as in CAD details) to those companies who will be making cases. The drawings don’t show the device in details other than sizes of each part. With this information it appears that a company has created a mockup of what a case and iPod touch within that case will look like.

It’s hard to make out exactly what’s happening in the render, but it appears that “if” the iPod represents a new device then it will keep the curved back rather than a glass back of the iPhone 4. We also see the addition of a camera and possibly a flash also which is one of the wanted features on the device. [Read more…]

ASUS Eee PC 1016P Appears on ASUS Site

ASUS is launching the ASUS Eee PC 1016p netbook soon. The new netbook falls in to the 1000 range of netbooks and therefore has a 10 inch screen.

Other features include an Intel Atom N455 CPU running the device along with Bluetooth 3.0 for connectivity along with Wireless 802.11b/g/n for connectivity.

Storage wise it comes with a 320GB hard drive and has 2GB of RAM. Battery life is impressive and rated at 13 hours between charges which is more than enough for a business days usage. [Read more…]

Viewsonic Android 2.2 Tablet Rumoured

Viewsonic could be joining the tablet race by releasing it’s own Android 2.2 OS based tablet. Stuff.tv reports that the tablet will have a seven inch screen and run Froyo.

For connectivity it is expected that it will have the ability to make calls via GSM as well as have Wireless integrated of course.

On the back either a 3 megapixel or 5 megapixel camera is expected. [Read more…]

Motorola 10 Inch Tablet Hinted on Verizon

Some rumours going around today indicated that Motorola is launching a 10 inch tablet soon. The tablet will use Android for the operating system and have a 10 inch screen.

Other features include Adobe Flash support (we assume that means the Motorola Tablet will run Android 2.2), along with two cameras (front and rear facing), mobile hotspot functionality and access to pay TV. [Read more…]

Motorola Glam Hits Korea

Motorola is launching the Motorola Glam this month in South Korea. The new phone runs Android 2.1 and has a 3.7 inch screen that uses capacitive touch and is multitouch. It has a decent resolution of 854 x 480 pixels.

On the back is a 5 megapixel camera along with a dual LED flash to light subjects in dark lighting conditions.

For connectivity it has Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and we assume WiFi although this isn’t specifically mentioned. [Read more…]

AT&T BlackBerry Torch 9800 with OS 6 now Official

The latest BlackBerry smartphone has been made official. The new device is the BlackBerry Torch 9800 which runs the new OS 6.

Features include a 3.2 inch touchscreen that has a resolution of 480 x 360 pixels. When launched, it will be headed to the AT&T [T] network.

Other features include a slide out QWERTY keyboard along with a wireless 802.11b/g/n connection and Bluetooth 2.1. The camera is capable of capturing images at five megapixels and the phone has a built in flash. [Read more…]

Apple Store iPhone 4 Demo Unit Jailbroken

The iPhone 4 jailbreak launched yesterday and along with that launch came an even easier way to jailbreak your device. Rather than downloading an app on to your PC or Mac, you simply visit a website in Safari on your iPhone 4, slide a slide to jailbreak button and away it goes.

This simple approach to jailbreaking the iPhone 4 means that even the in store demo units at Apple stores can be jailbroken as demoed in the video below.

The jailbreak was done by an Apple [AAPL] fan who visited a local Apple store and captured the whole process on camera. [Read more…]

Casio EX-S200 and EX-Z800 Announced

Casio has announced a couple of new point & shoot digital cameras called the Casio EXILIM EX-S200 and the EX-Z800.

Each of the cameras use the EXILIM Engine 5.0 that allows capture in what Casio call super-resolution technology that allows for better quality digital zoom for close up images.

The super-resolution digital zoom technology is capable of providing a crystal clear image at 1.5 times the range of the optical zoom lens. [Read more…]

Samsung Epic 4G Teaser Site Goes Live

Sprint [S] has uploaded a teaser site showing off the Samsung Epic 4G that is launching soon.

The new Epic 4G is a dual-mode handset capable of working on either 3G or 4G networks. No new information is revealed on the Sprint site although it does show a teaser video of the camera being used although it isn’t a real life example. HTC Desire Android 2.2 Update Now Live

Over the weekend the HTC Desire Android 2.2 update started rolling out as planned. The new Froyo update brings the new features of Android 2.2 to an already good smartphone.

Smartphones that have received the latest update are reported to run faster than when runningprevious Android versions. Another feature now allows the camera to capture video in HD at 720p allowing for more crystal clear images to be captured. [Read more…]

70 Gigapixel Photo of Budapest Equipment

Last week we wrote about a 70 gigapixel image of Budapest that was captured and processed in to the largest image in the world. The photo was made up of 20,000 images individually captured and stitched together with software to provide an amazing view of Budapest that can be zoomed right in to.

The equipment used to capture the image included two 25 megapixel Sony A900 cameras that each had a 400mm Minolta lens attached along with 1.4 X teleconverters. [Read more…]

70 Gigapixel Budapest Panorama Created

If you were impressed with the 45 Gigapixel Dubai capture then check out the 70 Gigapixel Budapest 360 degree panoramic picture.

The picture it’s self was created using two 25 megapixel Sony A900 cameras using 400mm Minolta lenses along with 1.4X teleconverters. The new 70 gigapixel image is said to now be the largest photograph in the world and the results are quite amazing. [Read more…]
