Toshiba 0.85-inch 4GB HDD

Toshiba have made this amazing 0.85-inch 4GB HDD. Looking at the pictures below you will be amazed at how something so small can be made.

The drive is slightly larger then a stamp and would be ideal for cameras, phones, MP3 players as well as card readers where transporting data around would be made far easier. I can see this device from Toshiba doing really well!

Samsung Q35

Now this does look good and the price is not too shabby either. Samsung have made this uo core processer the smallest in the world as of the 13th June 2006. The laptop has a widescreen and also a 5 in 1 card reader which comes very handy for digital cameras and such.

The price of the device is less then £1000 which is a good price for something so small and portable.

Sony Ericsson P990i

P990i.jpgSony Ericsson are to soon release their next P series mobile phone the P990i. The new phone will be compatible with 3G networks which is a good move forwards for Sony Ericsson. 3G coverage in the UK is getting larger and with adding high speed to the already amazing P series phones was the right way to go.

Some of the excellent advances are that it now supports wireless 802.11b, has a built in FM radio, compatible with the following networks… UMTS (3G) + GSM 900/1800/1900 and has the usual BlueTooth, 2M camera. Also new additions are the options of editing Word Documents on the go as well as Excell spreadsheets. The P990i also supports the main email protocols. The P series Sony Ericsson is truly becoming a mobile device for business users and allows for work on the go.

PS3 Card Games

Sony are introducing a cool game when the PS3 launches later this year. The games makes use of a real deck of cards and a camera (Eye Cards). The game, named “The Eye of Judgement” makes the cards come to life as mythical characters on screen, thanks to the inbuilt camera on the PS3.

As seen above, the game makes use of the real deck of cards. I personally think this might be an excellent way forwards for some type of games although the same should be able to be acomplished on the PS2 and I wouldn’t mind seeing this game appear on there. The Eye Toy on the PS2 is such a classic device that it had to take off big style.

What used to be imagined in your mind is now displayed on the screen.

The way the ps3 card games works is by placing cards on to the 3 x 3 board in front of you. The camera reads a code from the back of the card which is then converted in to an onscreen character (see image above).

Even better news is that the game should be made in to an online game… although Sony are working on how to stop the opponent from cheating.

Keep checking back for more news on the Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) due out November 2006.
