The TomTom iPhone application should be getting updated soon, assuming Apple [AAPL] approve it. Included in the update are a number of features which should have been included at launch such as advanced lane guidance and text to speech.

Eye-Fi cards are unique as they can wirelessly connect your digital camera up to a wireless network for instant transfer of pictures. Pictures are generally sent to photo sharing sites such as Flickr. It seems that Eye-Fi cards now have the option of FTP file transfer allowing you to bypass any restrictions that Flickr and other companies have.
All you need to get this going is an FTP server (you can configure your home computer to be one), or use a webserver if you run a website, and an Eye-Fi card that supports Online Sharing (there are several versions of Eye-Fi cards available, so you might not have the correct type for this). The Active Media Wink is a very small USB flash drive, claimed to be the tiniest by it’s creators, that manages to store an impressive 16GB of data.
The USB Wink Drive measures just 0.1 inches in thickness and measures over an inch long. Several capacities are available other than the large 16GB model which includes 2GB, 4GB, 8GB as well as the already mentioned 16GB model.
The flash drive it’s self is also waterproof as it’s covered in a sealed casing. To keep the drive safe a small eye hole is drilled in allowing it to be connected to your keychain. [Read more…]
Samsung announced today that they are launching the Samsung Go on to the AT&T network on November 22.
The Samsung Go is a netbook that has access to the AT&T network and runs the Windows 7 Starter Edition operating system. The Samsung netbook it’s self weighs 2.8lbs making it fairly light weight. The screen is backlit by LED and measures 10.1″ and has a WSVGA format displaying 1024 x 600 pixels. [Read more…]
Nokia have announced a new phone called the Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition that as the name describes, has something to do with watching TV. The 5330 TV Edition supports the DVB-H standard (digital video broadcasting handheld) that is prevalent around Europe and the adopted standard over this way.
The phone has a QVGA screen that measures 2.4 inches, a 3.5mm headphone jack that allows usage of regular headphones and can playback TV for up to 6 hours on a single charge. [Read more…]
Fallingwater is a residential home that was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright back in 1934. The famous home has now been designed in to a LEGO set for those who like architecture to build.
The model is described on the LEGO site as being highly-detailed. The model stands 10 inches wide and is built on a gray base that has a name label printed on it. A booklet is provided that contains all the details of the building and how it was constructed. [Read more…]
If you are wanting a comparison of how powerful the latest 27 inch iMac’s are then check out the graph above. The graph represents benchmarks of the Core i7 models vs the Core i5’s. I’d like to mention that the i5’s are already quite fast, but seeing the i7’s get around a 35% performance boost the $200 upgrade doesn’t seem so bad.

On a recent broadcast of the Gillmor Gang videocast Mike Arrington was asked about the Crunchpad which we really haven’t heard of much recently. According to Mike, the crunchpad is steamrolling with a lot of development being done this past month on the software. When launched (no dates yet), the crunchpad is expected to cost $300 – $400 and will be supported by sponsorships. Mike was quick to point out that the sponsorships would not be intrusive perhaps just like the firefox google search sponsorships. The device is also a web browser only device that’s aimed at a market to allow users to sit in front of the TV while catching up on news and youtube, watching video etc…
The video also mentions battery power with Mike saying they expect it to be good, and as they look in to other technologies such as OLED they can make battery life better. Conversation also spoke of colour e-ink and perhaps a future in that with a particular company expecting colour e-ink to be available next year. Each of these advances should increase battery life as power consumption gets lower and lower. [Read more…]

Casio are launching a new point and shoot camera called the Casio Exilim EX-FC150. The camera is an upgrade from the previous EX-FC100 series camera and has been upgraded with a new CMOS sensor that can capture images at 10 megapixels. The sensor is also backlit.
The 37-185mm lens is capable of 5x optical zoom and has sensor shift stabilization. Continuous shooting can be performed up to 40 photos (not sure if that’s per second or in one burst of shots).
Just like the EX-FC100 the EX-FC150 can also capture highspeed movies at up to 1,000 frames per second although the resolution drops considerably to achieve that down to 224×64 pixels. [Read more…]
Samsung announced a new smartphone today called the Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700. The phone is Google [GOOG] android based and runs with an 800MHz processor. Although not quite the speed of the Snapdragon processors running at 1GHz it’s still a bump up from other android based phones that tend to run a little slower.
The Samsung Galaxy comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack so that standard head/ear phones can be attached for listening to music. Power is provided by a 1500mAh battery and the phone measures 13.2mm in thickness making it fairly slim. [Read more…]
Google [GOOG] back in July announced that they were working on a new operating system called Google Chrome OS. The new operating system is a step-up from Android in that it’s designed to run on computers rather than phones.
The main problem with the launch being next week is that there’s still a lack of drivers which will probably mean that when you install the OS on your computer you might get a bit disappointed that half of your hardware doesn’t work. However, it is believed that Google have a team of developers working on this as well as leaning on hardware manufacturers to create compatible drivers. [Read more…]
