Korean Exonomic Daily appears to have had some hands-on time with the LG Optimus Windows Phone 7 smartphone.

Interesting information found in the machine translated article indicates that a voice to text message system might be built in to the Optimus. The service also moves out to emails and status updates by simply talking to the phone.

LG Optimus One and Optimus Chic Android Smartphones Announced

LG today announced a couple of new Android OS based smartphones. These are the LG Optimus One and the LG Optimus Chic.

When launched, the two new smartphones will run the latest OS from Google [GOOG], Android 2.2.

The LG Optimus One will have a 3.2 inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen and will have a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The processor on this device will run at 600Mhz which is a little lower than the norm of 1GHz these days, but hopefully if LG can keep bloatware off the Optimus One, it might run quite swiftly with Android 2.2 installed. LG 31 Inch OLED hits IFA

LG is set to reveal a larger OLED display at IFA this year. This time around the screen will measure 31 inches and yet, have a thickness of just 0.11 inches.

As well as showing off an ultra thin and relatively large OLED screen at IFA, they will also be showing a slightly thicker 0.35 inch LCD screen that is available to buy now. [Read more…]

Tablet Dune Windows 7 Slate Appears in Belgium

The Tablet Dune has been revealed. This tablet is a Windows 7 Slate that has been spotted over in Belgium.

Technical specs reveal that it has a 10.2 inch screen (no details of resolution are known yet), and that it runs on an Intel Atom N450 processor that is clocked at 1.67Ghz. Memory wise it has 2GB of DDR 2 and Intel Integrated Graphics are also included.

For storage it has a 160GB 2.5 inch hard drive. There is also plenty of connectivity with wireless 802.11a/b/g/n as well as Bluetooth and optional 3G. A 1.3 megapixel webcam can also be found on the device. [Read more…]

LG C900 Windows Phone 7 on AT&T [T] Gets FCC Approval

The FCC has approved the LG C900 Windows Phone 7 smartphone for use on the AT&T [T] network.

The C900 is a landscape slider phone that has WCDMA bands II and V making it compatible with the AT&T network.

If you remember back to the weekend, the LG C900 was captured showing an AT&T logo on the Windows Phone 7 home screen which indicated a new update of the OS had landed that allowed for a bit of carrier branding. [Read more…]

LG E900 Windows Phone 7 Smartphone Spotted

We’ve seen a number of Windows Phone 7 devices over the last few weeks. Generally they run a basic Windows Phone 7 OS although one of the latest was seen slightly branded with an AT&T logo on a screen tile.

The latest to be captured by Mr BlurryCam is the LG E900. The LG E900 is similar to the LG C900 although this version lacks a slide out QWERTY keyboard.

It is expected that the LG E900 will be launched in Europe when the Windows Phone 7 launch day happens. [Read more…]

LG C900 Windows Phone 7 with AT&T Carrier Branding Spotted

Another smartphone leak has been spotted. Earlier we caught a glimps of the T-Mobile G2. Now it’s time for the LG C900 Windows Phone 7 smartphone.

The LG C900 is a Windows Phone 7 device that has a slide out QWERTY keyboard. It is ideal for those who prefer not to use a virtual keyboard on the Cetus for example.

The device it’s self is quite rounded in features. It has the regular three buttons below the screen (a requirement from Microsoft [MSFT]), and looks to have a screen about 3.7 inches in size. [Read more…]

In an interview with the WSJ, the LG VP of Marketing said that the LG Tablet will be better than the iPad. The reason for this is that it’s going to be surprisingly productive to use.

Microsoft Algorithm Reduces Camera Shake Blur

When capturing photos of anything, you often come across the problem of blurry pictures thanks to the camera slightly shaking when you take the picture.

The problem is more evident in low light situations where the shutter needs to stay open longer to capture enough light. Microsoft [MSFT] is working on a new system that uses motion sensors in all directions as well as a gyroscope that when combined, can feed back information to the camera and adjust the settings to compensate for the blur.

The system isn’t perfect just yet and a couple of faults can be found within the images, but from a quick look at the image quality when using the system vs when not using the system, there is a huge difference. [Read more…]

LG Windows Phone 7 Devices Arriving This Year

LG has confirmed again that a Windows Phone 7 smartphone is due to arrive in September. The new smartphone is to be called the Pacific (not fully confirmed – and not the device pictured above). It is expected that more WP7 devices from LG will also arrive later this year in the initial roll out stages of Windows Phone 7.

“We have a deep relationship with Microsoft so expect to have a couple by the end of this year,” said LG rep Ken Hong in Seoul on Wednesday. But LG will also commit resources to other phone operating systems, including Android and other Linux-based platforms, Hong said.
