The LG Optimus 3D has also been made official today. This new smartphone is unique in that it has dual-cameras on the back as well as a glasses free 3D screen. The 3D effect works by using a parallax barrier in a similar way to how the Nintendo 3DS screen works. What this does is splits the image in two and sends different details to each eye which in turn, makes the images pop out of the screen when used at a certain distance from your eyes.

Inside the LG Optimus 3D is a dual core 1GHz TI OMAP 4 processor. The 3D screen on the front measures 4.3 inches and is in a WVGA resolution. The parallax barrier can be switched off for times when it isn’t needed to be used. LG has also customized the menus on this device to give a 3D effect. The LG Optimus 3D is one of the first phones to have a 3D screen along with a dual-camera setup on the back to capture pictures. Others have been made but generally, those didn’t hit mainstream over this way.

A teaser video was sent to Pocket Lint that shows a few details about the device. The video is quite dark and it’s difficult to see the finer details of the new 3D smartphone, but it does let us know a few things about it. [Read more…]

We just found out today that the LG Optimus 2X is capable of capturing HD video at 1080p. The new smartphone captures the Full HD with an 8 megapixel camera (video sample below).

As well as being able to capture full HD it has a number of features that make it quite desirable. The operating system running on the X2 is Android 2.2 at the moment although an upgrade to Android 2.3 is expected shortly after launch. [Read more…]

Last week, LG announced the new LG Optimus 2X along with details of where it will be launching. The 2X is first starting off in Korea and shortly after will be moving to Asia and Europe. However, there was no mention of the Optimus 2X coming to America.

We now hear that it will indeed be arriving in the US, although the information is from a leaked bit of information from someone who has it “on good authority”. [Read more…]

Earlier today, we showed a couple of pictures of a new device believed to be code-named the LG B. The LG B has a very bright screen and is super slim from what we saw.

LG has now confirmed that this device is real and also have confirmed that they will have the device on show at CES in the next few weeks in Las Vegas. [Read more…]

Yesterday, we mentioned the details of the LG Optimus 2X. This will be just one of several phones launching by LG in the next year though.

Phandroid managed to get hold of some details of a smartphone code-named the LG B.

As can be seen in the screenshot below, the LG B (sat in the middle), has a very bright display. The phone on the left is the iPhone 4 and the one on the right is a Samsung Galaxy S. Each of those devices are known to have the best screens available at the moment. [Read more…]

LG has announced the LG Optimus 2X. The Optimus 2X runs a 1GHz dial-core processor (NVIDIA Tegra 2) and has a 4 inch WVGA screen. Other features include 8GB of memory that can be expanded a further 32GB by using a microSD card.

On the back is an 8 megapixel camera and on the front, a 1.3 megapixel camera. HDMI mirroring is available on this device and it is capable of playing 1080p MPEG-4/H.264 content. [Read more…]

This week, LG has confused a few people in regards to the LG Optimus One getting the Android 2.3 update. The first post was found on Facebook about it where LG said that Gingerbread wasn’t compatible due to the Optimus One processor being 600MHz, but Gingerbread required 1GHz.

Someone stepped in on Twitter and said there were no hard limits. LG then apologized and said they hadn’t received the documentation from Google [GOOG] so couldn’t officially comment. [Read more…]

Yesterday, LG published a Facebook update (now deleted) that said Android 2.3 Gingerbread would not land on the Optimus line of smartphones due to it requiring a 1GHz processor to run it. Optimus smartphone use a 600MHz processor.

Shortly after that, @morrildl tweeted a “random note” as he called it and said that Gingerbread had no hard minimum processor requirements. [Read more…]
