LG today announced a couple of new Android OS based smartphones. These are the LG Optimus One and the LG Optimus Chic.
When launched, the two new smartphones will run the latest OS from Google [GOOG], Android 2.2.
The LG Optimus One will have a 3.2 inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen and will have a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The processor on this device will run at 600Mhz which is a little lower than the norm of 1GHz these days, but hopefully if LG can keep bloatware off the Optimus One, it might run quite swiftly with Android 2.2 installed. The battery on the Optimus One has a capacity of 1500mAh.
Other features of the Optimus One include an accelerometer, proximity sensor, light sensor and DNLA capabilities.
On to the Optimus Chic, the device has very similar specs in that it has a 600MHz CPU, a 3.2 inch screen that is also HVGA and capacitive touch although the battery is slightly smaller with a capacity of 1250mAh. The Optimus Chic also has the same sensors and features of the Optimus One.
Each device will be on sale in Europe around November and will follow on in to other countries at a later (unspecified) dates. Pricing has not been revealed.
