Facebook Phone Could Arrive Next Year

Rumours of a Facebook Phone have been going around since last weekend. First off, it was expected that a Facebook Phone was going to be built which was then denied by Facebook.

We are now hearing that INQ could be making a Facebook phone. Reports indicate that a couple of Facebook phones could be launched by INQ with an estimated release date of some time next year.

Although Facebook denied the phone, Mark Zuckerberg recently said in an interview with TechCrunch that they are looking at some kind of integration with a mobile platform rather than a regular log on type service that we see now. [Read more…]

This move will keep a consistent look across all iOS devices as well as with the iPod nano. [Read more…]

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Android 2.1 Update Delayed

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 owners might be left a little disappointed today after the company has announced that the Android 2.1 update that was scheduled to arrive this month has actually been delayed until the end of next month.

The company has “had to spend some additional time on the software to really makes sure we roll-out with the right quality and user experience,”. This affects all X10 variants such as the Mini and others.

Right now the X10 is stuck using the older (very older) Android 1.6 until Sony Ericsson release the 2.1 update. Even at that point it still puts X10 users behind the pack as Android 2.2 is coming standard on a number of phones released at the moment. [Read more…]

HTC HD7 Full Specs Revealed

Drawings and pictures as well as a bit of rumour has been revealed about the HTC HD7. The only thing we don’t know at the moment is what it will be actually called. What we have now is the technical specs that reveal the handset is slightly larger than the HTC HD2. Size wise it measures 122 x 68 x 11.2 mm. For connectivity it works on the T-Mobile USA 3G frequency of 1700 MHz (might be just this model only) with other markets supporting other networks.

Digital eBook Reader Concept

Karim Zaouai has created an eBook reader concept that has dual screens that use eInk technology. The video below shows the device being used with the content of the pages being manipulated by controls on the device.

The video doesn’t show a real product and instead, looks to superimpose images of an eBook reader on the device to give you an idea of what the concept is about.

If the product ever makes it to production, it is expected that it will have wireless capabilities to download books to the internal storage. [Read more…]

HTC HD7 Windows Phone 7 Captured on Camera

Some pictures of the HTC HD7 (or perhaps the HD3) have been posted online. The reason we are not so sure of the name at the moment is that it clearly says HD3 on the back of the device although earlier reports and documents leaked from O2 and other places indicate that the new Windows Phone 7 device will be called the HD7. It could be that this particular prototype is an early model before they changed the name of it.

The device its self looks just like the HTC HD7 drawings found on the web a few days back.

Either way, we know that the device above will run Windows Phone 7 and will be a step up from the popular HTC HD2. Hopefully this time around though, people wont want to remove Windows Phone 7 in favour of Android like they did with Windows Mobile 6.5 on the HD2. [Read more…]
