iPad 2 Announcement Rumored for March 2

Yesterday, rumors began to circle about the iPad 2 launch being delayed till June to match the iPhone 5 release date. The WSJ is now reporting that Apple intend to launch a year after the original iPad (early April) and that the new iPad will be announced as early as next week on March 2nd.

If WSJ’s sources are correct (notice sources as in several), then the event will be held in San Francisco. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy S 4G Landing at T-Mobile Tomorrow

As of tomorrow, you’ll be able to get your hands on a Samsung Galaxy S 4G on the T-Mobile network in the US. The device is launching on February 23 with a price tag of $199. This price is for those who sign up for a contract and is the price after the rebate.

What makes the Galaxy S 4G different from the regular Galaxy S is that it functions on T-Mobiles 4G HSPA+ network. This means that download speeds can be as quick as 21MBps in perfect conditions. [Read more…]

Intel Holding a Press Event This Thursday

Intel has sent out invites for a press conference this coming Thursday. Although Intel makes no mention of what will be unveiled, they do say that “new technology” will be discussed. You might also remember over the last few days, rumors of a new MacBook Pro with Light Peak technology have been hinted at, well what we see here is some perfect timing for Intel to introduce Light Peak followed by a launch of a new MacBook Pro range.

Of course, a lot of this is just speculation at the moment, but thanks to a patent revealed and some inside knowledge, it appears that these rumors could end up being correct. [Read more…]

Android 3.0 SDK Now Available for Download

Google has announced that the Android 3.0 Honeycomb SDK is now available to download for developers. The SDK is the final release which in turn, means that developers can start creating apps and testing them on a stable OS.

Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Download Now Available

Microsoft [MSFT] has just launched the first service pack for Windows 7. The Service Pack 1 download went live today and is the first major update to the Windows 7 operating system. Size wise, it’s almost 2GB weighing in at 1.9GB.

As well as being available for W7, Service Pack 1 is also available for Windows 2008 R2 and can also be downloaded. [Read more…]

Motorola Xoom Contract Pricing Revealed on Verizon

Verizon has revealed the contract pricing for the Motorola Xoom. For those wanting to sign up to a 24 month contract, they’ll knock $200 off the price taking it from the $799.99 SIM free price down to $599.99.

The contract will be $20/month and will include an allowance of 1GB of transfer. The total price over the two years will be $1080. [Read more…]

Windows Phone 7 Update Causes Problems for Samsung Users

Yesterday, Microsoft started rolling out a small update to WP7 users around the globe. The small update was designed to update the update process, if that makes sense. In doing this, it would make the process easier for future updates, such as the copy & paste update expected next month.

However, there’s been a few problems for those running Samsung Omnia 7 devices with 5 or so reports coming in that indicate the said smartphones have been “bricked”. What that means is that the update has gone wrong and the phone is now useless. [Read more…]

Windows 8 for Tablets Could be Demoed in September

Windows 8 will likely release in the summer of 2012, but we could see the first beta version of it arrive September 2011 thanks to a road-map that has leaked. Although the specific date is not mentioned on the road map, what we do see is that the M3 coding is about to begin.

This means that the M2 milestone phase is about finished and when M3 is complete a beta could roll out, followed a few months later, perhaps at CES, with another beta and then on to the final product around the summer of 2012.

Apple Could Make White iPhone 5

Although we are still yet to see an official White iPhone 4 arrive, we are now hearing hints that Apple is already looking forward to the White iPhone 5. The leak this time comes from sources who spoke to the Economic Daily News who have hinted that Wintek has been asked to supply touch panels for a white iPhone 5 to Apple. Mitsubishi 92 Inch 3D Screen Unveiled

Mitsubishi has introduced a new 3D TV to its range. The new screen measures a healthy 92 inches and has a bunch of features packed inside.

The features include a built in emitter, DLP technology, four HDMI inputs as well as the ability to stream audio via Bluetooth.

Larger Glass Trackpads Coming to MacBook Pro Update

Rumors are heating up in regards to the expected MacBook Pro updates coming this Thursday. What is being reported this time around is that shipments will start this Thursday although customers will not received them for a couple of weeks.

BGR also reports that each new MacBook Pro model will include a larger glass multitouch pad. Another interesting leaked bit of information indicates that the new laptops will also feature a combination of SSD and hard drive for OS and file storage. [Read more…]
