Apple iPhone

iPhone
Apple has yet again revealed something amazing. The iPhone was put on display at CES and you will be amazed at the look of this device. This is one phone that I must go out and buy!

For the technical specs, the iPhone is 11.6mm thin made in aluminium with a 3.5 inch display which is a multi touch screen. Multi touch is a system which allows more then 1 finger to touch the screen which has some very cool features. Also you can choose between a 4Gb or 8Gb model in which both have a 2 megapixel camera.

For the full pics and specs, check out SlashGear who managed to grab plenty of pics of this great looking phone.

Who owns the iPhone anyway

iPhone
So who was it who coined the term iPhone and said that Apple would be launching it soon? Well… there is a small problem. Apple does not actually own the iPhone trademark. It belongs to Cisco who registered it back in the 90s. They tradmarked little i big P hone (iPhone) and it seems that Cisco will be bringing out it’s own range of VoIP products.

iPhone
Apple is creating the iPhone and has awarded Foxconn the contract to built 12M of them. The iPhone is a much anticipated device from Apple. The news came from a Chinese language news paper called Commercial Times. The phone is set to be launched in the first quarter of 2007 and hopefully Steve Jobs will be showing off the handset at the Macworld Expo.

Apple have stated that next year will be a big year in terms of new products being release by them. Items such as the iPod Tablet and various new laptops it should be a great year if you can afford it all 🙂

LAB22 Adjustable Tech Stands on Kickstarter

LAB22 is a series of stands for the iPad, iPhone, and AirPods Max. The iPad stand is compatible with 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros and the iPad Air 10.9-inch model.

Your iPad attaches magnetically to the stand with the magnets being strong so that you can use the iPad for drawing/typing or as a second screen without the worry of it slipping off. The plate it rests on is fully covered with microfibre so that the contact isn’t metal to metal which could leave scuffs.

The hinge on this iPad is also strong and has 9kgf-cm of torque to hold the iPad in whatever position needed. Briefly, 9kgf-cm is related to how much force is needed to move the iPad on its hinge. Too much, and it won’t move. Too little, and it would drop down and never stay put. The stand can fold down at any angle and move back up, and the plate is also rotatable allowing you to switch between portrait and landscape modes easily.

Walkie-Talkie Smartphone Handset

I only tend to see truck drivers with walkie-talkies these days as I drive past them. With the walkie-talkie smartphone handset, you can join in on that scene too.

The handset plugs in to the headphone port on any smartphone and has a microphone built in to the handset. To talk, you push the button. It has adjustable volume and the ability to pickup and end calls.

JackPod Smartphone Tripod Mount

The JackPod is another great idea that I just came across on Kickstarter. It is a device that you plug in to the 3.5mm headphone jack on your smartphone and use that as a mounting point for a tripod.

The details show that it can mount any smartphone that uses any case safely on to a tripod so you can get steadier shots.

Water Resistant Wireless/Bluetooth Speaker

This speaker is both waterproof and wireless allowing you to use it near a sink or bath without the risk of breaking it.

The wireless connection works over bluetooth and allows a device such as an iPhone, iPad or Android smartphone to transmit music up to 30 feet away. This simply means that you can keep the speaker in the bathroom and the phone away from the water in another room.

Apple Maps

Now that millions of people have installed iOS 6 on their iPhone or iPad a number of problems have been spotted with the Apple Maps. Problems include town names being in the wrong place down to air ports found in farmers fields etc… The list goes on and on.

In iOS 6, Apple dropped Google Maps as the standard and then switched to Apple Maps so that it had more control over the whole service. Although it has good points such as free navigation built in for latest gen and last gen devices, it still lacks in many areas. One notable example is no street view and even more so, the problem of the maps not being accurate.
