iPhone 5 Could get a Smaller Dock Connector
We’ve seen pictures before of the supposed iPhone 5 along with a smaller dock connector (see picture below), but now we are hearing even more hints that the regular 30 pin dock connector could be replaced with a smaller version taking up less space on the bottom of the device. iPhone 5 Production Rumoured to Have Started
Although Apple [AAPL] has yet to announce the iPhone 5, or indeed set a date for the announcement, rumours are now indicating that production of the next generation iPhone has just begun.
Launch dates for the new iPhone indicate that we might be seeing it sometime between August and October which is a given really considering the iPhone 4S launched last October and Apple typically launches 1 new smartphone each year.
Nano-SIMs Being Tested for Next Gen Smartphones
Next generation smartphones, which could include the yet to be announced iPhone 5 and perhaps a new Nexus model from Google, could be getting Nano SIMs instead of micro SIMs. When Apple launched the iPad and iPhone 4, the company opted to use microSIMs which are essentially the same as full SIMs but with a lot of the wasted plastic cut off from around the edges.
We now hear that nano-SIMs are being tested by Apple for the next generation of devices due to launch over the coming months.

iPad 4G renamed to iPad WiFi + Cellular in Some Countries
Apple has changed the name of the 4G version of the iPad to iPad WiFi + Cellular. The ‘Cellular’ has been added and replaced the 4G. Nothing has actually changed in the iPad and this is merely to keep a number of countries happy who were complaining that they were buying a 4G device in a country where 4G wasn’t available… ie, they couldn’t get the full benefit of it.

The tablet will be aggressively priced which will allow it to compete with the likes of the Amazon Kindle Fire.

iAd Developer Revenue Increased from 60 to 70 Percent
Apple [AAPL] has increased the percentage for the developer using iAds from 60 to 70 percent. The increase is an attempt to make the iAd service more popular than other options that are currently available.
The iAd network allows developers to embed code in to their apps so that banners (iAds) are displayed and when displayed a portion of revenue is given to that developer.

iPhoto for iOS Sees 1 Million Downloads Since Launch

The number represents unique users and not the number of downloads which means it will have been downloaded a lot more than that due to people having multiple iOS devices.
