Cyber Quad VTOL Drone
This flying object is built by an Australian company called Cyber Technology and is capable of vertical take off and landing. The Cyber Quad as it’s called has four ducted fans to provide lift to fly it around as an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. As well as being able to fly around it does have a real use in that a HD camera is attached that can beam back live video from locations it is scouting out.
One recent example was when it was used on an oil platform where the Cyber Quad was flown in to capture video of what was happening and any damage that had been caused. It is capable of flying for about 40 minutes on a single charge, but as it’s easy to manoeuvre it can easily be perched on a pad so that the camera can be moved around while the Quad isn’t flying to save battery life. Millennium Falcon Clock
The clock here is built from an old Millennium Falcon from Star Wars and uses the centre point of the ship to embed clock work in to it’s innards.
Although not a difficult task to accomplish, ie, use a drill and some clock parts, it still looks unique on any wall.
One funny thing to note is the picture to the right of the Millennium Falcon Clock… check out the Storm Trooper there (better picture after the jump). [Read more…]

Google Nexus One Lacks Multi-Touch
TnkGrl managed to check the Google Nexus One phone out recently and spotted a few interesting things. One of the main features lacking on the phone is multi-touch. It seems that the phone does not allow for it. I am sure that some clever folk will managed to figure a way to get it working though so that’s no biggie although it would be nice to see it function out of the box.
On the plus side, the phone is extremely thin, has a fairly decent battery capacity of 1400 mAh. It has an OLED screen from what tnkgrl mentioned. It is unlocked for now (that might change) and has a super snappy interface. [Read more…]

Apple Patent Shows Jonny Lee 3D Style Head Tracking Interface
Apple [AAPL] have filed another patent that describes interaction with 3D displays. The system works by changing what you see on screen in relation to where your head is. A similar system was created by Jonny Lee where he used a Nintendo Wii remote along with infra red to make a head tracking system (seen in the video below).
The system patented by Apple allows users to see around objects by changing the position of their head. The normal way to do this now is to move an object with a mouse or keyboard, but in the future this might not be needed. [Read more…]

On the higher end of the card capacities the largest can store up to 16GB of data and with the Class 10 status, it allows for video and audio to be played at a higher rate. This can allow for HD video recording quite easily. [Read more…]
Google Earth Satnav System Heading to Audi A8
Audi are about to introduce a Google Earth based sat nav system in to their A8 Saloon cars. This will be the first time Google Earth has been installed in to a production car officially.
As well as having the fancy Google Earth imagary the Audi A8 will also support a standard hard disk based system I assume for those times when the car’s GPRS/EDGE connectivity is lost.
By using Google Earth based navigation, drivers will get higher performance graphics that will show 3D buildings, landscapes as well as gradients and terrain modelling. [Read more…]
LG RoboKing Robot Vacuum
LG have created a new robot vacuum cleaner called the LG RoboKing. The RoboKing is smaller than the previous model measuring just 90mm tall where as before the previous version was 130mm tall. This allows the vacuum to manoeuvre more easily under objects such as book cases and furniture.
As well as being shorter in height the vacuum has also got 13db quieter and now measures 50db when in use. The LG RoboKing has two cameras built in allowing it to more easily navigate around a room. Programming has also been improved it seems as the vacuum also works 30 percent quicker than previous models perhaps by cleaning a room more efficiently rather than randomly like before. [Read more…]
