An interesting part of this process is that you have the operation done as an outpatient making it very brief with results from the op being performed in the morning being seen by the evening. [Read more…]

AllPlugs Provides Power Anywhere in your Room

allsocketThe average home in the US/UK is jam packed full of electronics. Just under my TV I have a Playstation, V+ box, External HDD, Vonage router, wireless router, cable modem and cordless phone charger. Behind the TV the wires are just crazy and although I set them up neatly, they somehow manage to tangle.

AllPlugs is a device which aims to tackle 2 problems. 1st, unless you use a bunch of power strips then you’ll probably be short of wall sockets, and secondly, you still have a bunch of wires around the living room that you really don’t want to see. Augmented Reality Business Card

Augmented-Reality-Business-CardMany business cards are boring to be honest. Most, if not all just show your name, rank and how you can be contacted. A guy named James Alliban has decided to used augmented reality to create his business cards. The cards were printed at moo.com and on the back contain a graphic which is then captured on to a computer via a webcam. When the camera picks up the little graphic a cool 3D grid of coloured planes pops up, each extruding towards the camera depending on the brightness of the pixel, and then a video can be played back with the business card owner being seen talking with a message about himself. R2-Q5 was a droid that only appears in Return of the Jedi along with a couple of Lego Star Wars games. The only real difference with this droid is that it’s painted black with red accents and simply just looks different to the usual R2 hub that you see occasionally on someone’s desk. [Read more…]
