Nokia X7-00 Leaked on Video – Gets Four Speakers

The Nokia X7-00 was leaked recently on video. The device falls in to the Xseries of devices at Nokia and hence, is a multimedia based smartphone.

ASUS Eee Note 12 Inch Model Due in Jan 2011

ASUS is launching the 8 inch Eee Note EA800 model in the next few weeks. Prices will start at $261 and go up to $293 when it arrives in Taiwan.

Next year, in January, ASUS will then roll out a larger 12 inch model. The 12 inch Eee Note will be officially announced in December and is expected to run the grayscale LCD display that is on the smaller 8 inch version. [Read more…]

Three weeks back, the SkyFire browser for iPhone launched in the US. At that time, it had a bumpy start due to the very high demand of the app.

EU to Work Harder to Hit Broadband Targets

An EU report indicates that the European governments are in danger of missing targets for fast broadband roll out. The target is that every European will have broadband access by 2013.

More than a quarter of citizens now have access to broadband, but the report indicates that things are not moving as quickly as they should be.

“Fast broadband is digital oxygen, essential for Europe’s prosperity and well-being. Take up and available speeds are improving, but we need to do more to reach our very fast broadband targets,” said
Neelie Kroes, Commission vice-president for the digital agenda.

“In particular, we need urgent agreement on our proposal to ensure radio spectrum is available for mobile broadband, for which demand is growing very fast.”

Apple iPad Black Friday Deals

Apple [AAPL] has now rolled out Black Friday to its stores around the world. Currently, a good number of products have discounts. The Apple iPad is one of them that is now priced at £394 in the UK for the 16GB WiFi model. Each of the iPad models get a £35 discount for today only. Full details can be found here.

Vodafone Subsidized iPad Incoming to UK

Earlier this week we learned that Orange/T-Mobile and the Three networks would be offering a subsidized iPad here in the UK. We now year that Vodafone is following and also will be offering a cheaper iPad with a higher monthly cost.

Just like the other two networks, Vodafone has yet to provide pricing or release dates for the subsidized iPad, but what we gather is that it will be expected early next year rather than being in time for Christmas. [Read more…]

Sony Ericsson X10 Android 2.1 Update Delayed for AT&T Users

It seems that the Android 2.1 is being delayed again for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. This time it’s for those users who own it on the AT&T network in the US.

The reason for this particular delay is a little vague to be honest. It has been put down to some rigorous testing that caused some technical requirements not to be met. ie, it could be AT&T who are being very strict with what can and cannot land on its network. [Read more…]

Apple Grows Rapidly – Buys HP Campus in Cupertino

Apple [AAPL] is growing at a rapid pace, so much so that Steve Jobs has commented that the Cupertino HQ is bursting at the seams…

“we now occupy 57 buildings in Cupertino and our campus is bursting at the seams. These offices will give us more space for our employees as we continue to grow.”

Gran Turismo 5 Review Roundup

After a number of years waiting, Gran Turismo 5 has finally launched. Reviews have been positive of the game although there are some problems to be found. Problems we have been hearing, and from our own testing of the game, relates to some of the cars not being finished. Some look amazing inside while others look like they come from an older version of the game. Shadows are also not strong point with lots of jaggedy edges. Other than that, and perhaps a point raised in one review about originality, all looks to be fantastic with the game.

Nokia N8 & C7 Green Eco-Friendly Versions Announced

Nokia has announced that a couple of new versions of smartphones are being launched that aim to be more Green and eco-friendly. The new versions are the Nokia N8 and the Nokia C7.

Each is being made in partnership with O2 in the UK and Telefonica in Spain and uses green enhancements such as bio-plastic construction as well as bio-plant construction. Each screen will be switched to AMOLED to be more efficient in terms of power savings. [Read more…]

Acer 10.1 Inch Tablet Could Get an AMD C-50 APU

Acer recently confirmed that it would be building a few new devices with one of those being a 10.1 inch tablet that runs Windows 7.

We hear from Digitimes that this tablet will run an AMD Dual-core C-50 Ontario APU (accelerated processing unit). This particular processor is capable of being powered while consuming just 9W of power. [Read more…]

webOS Security Flaws Found

Security flaws have been found in webOS by a company called SecTheory. Researches at the company managed to find a handful of these flaws.

The reason why these flaws exist is because of how webOS works with Javascript. The OS basically puts it closer to the core which is different than most other operating systems who keep it far away. [Read more…]
