Polarion Flash Light has 5000 Lumens

polarion-ph50-pf50
Polarion have created an amazing flash light which boasts a 5000 lumen bulb inside. That’s a hefty 1000 lumen’s brighter then the model below. The torch has a battery life of 80 minutes which I think is fairly impressive considering it’s a few times brighter then your home projector. Newer batteries will be made available also which will increase the usage time per charge.

The beam thrown by the Polarion PG50 is 1 mile and can be used for various things such as a searchlight. The Polarion’s will set you back just short of $2200.

Cool Outdoor Cinema

Outdoor Cinema
This cinema was designed by Hagy Belzberg and is set in the hills over Hollywood. The house is 5800 square feet and features glass walls, clean lines and uncluttered space. I have to admit that it’s quite a nice setup they have there!

pPod Shuffle for the Healthy People

pPod Shuffle
This pPod Shuffle was designed for the purpose of health awareness. It was designed using Maya by Lawrence Whittemore and is just an awareness poster and not actually going to be made in to a real pPod (iPod). However, if the concept really got you excited then you can go ahead and buy a T-Shirt of the pPod over at MJR Productions.

Floating Lamp

floating_lamp
Levitation has always been a cool thing. The latest gadget to use this is the floating lamp in which the top section floats a few inches above the base of the lamp. The film was taken at DDW Dutch design week.

Pneumatic Confetti Cannon

pneumatic-confetti-cannon
The confetti cannon might be a tad on the large side for carrying to the next wedding, but it can be used for a number of things such as stage shows, parties and events where confetti needs to be launched in no time at all. The Confetti Canon is custom built from a fire extinguisher, pipes, hoses, an air compressor and a bunch of other parts. Rather then going in to detail of how to make it you can check out the full build instructions over at Modd3d.

Son of Concorde?

Son of Concorde
The Concorde was a marvellous plane which could take passengers from London to New York in just a few hours. However, due to a couple of problems it was taken out of service in the last few years. Not to worry though as a new version could be built and in service in 15 years time which should be able to take passengers from Brussels to Australia in about 4 hours. The new version will fly at Mach 5 (about 3400mph). It will carry 300 passengers and run on liquid hydrogen to lower carbon emissions. The real name of the plane will be the A2 and has funding from the European Space Agency and EU.

It’s designed to leave Brussels International Airport, fly quietly and sub-sonically out into the North Atlantic at about Mach 0.9 before reaching Mach 5 across the North Pole and heading down over the Pacific to Australia.

Son of Concorde Flight

Although it sounds like quite a crazy project, it is definitely the way forwards. Dropping Concorde out of service a few years back might not have been the best step forwards, but now that this is making it’s way we can forgive them for dropping it’s Dad.

Mechanical Calculator

Curta-Calculator
If you are geeky and calculators are your thing then maybe you need to step back a bit and check out the Curta Calculator. It was built in 1948 by Curt Herzstark. It is capable of all the basic functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. If you are very clever you can also get it to work out square roots too. It uses a cylinder with numbers placed around this cylinder. Below you will find a video of the Curta Calculator being used.

Rubiks Cube Advert

I just spotted a cool advert on TV this evening which is named Honda – Problem Playground. It uses a ton of Rubiks cubes for the advert which are built in to a wall. The pattern left on the wall is of the new Honda Hybrid engine. It’s worth checking out and can be seen below.

Small Nintendo DS with working Game

tiny-paper-nintendo-ds-lite
This Nintendo DS Lite is supposed to be the smallest one ever crafted. It is made of paper and is just 1.4 inches long. The hinge is made from a tooth pic and the Nintendogs game actually fits inside of it.

If you are a dab hand with the paper and scissors then feel free to follow this template and make your own.

Super Bowl-B-Gone

TV-B-Gone
Bucky Reed probably wont be the most popular person when he unleashes his TV-B-Gone while watching super bowl at some public place. The TV-B-Gone is a device which switches off almost any TV at the push of a button. It works by using 4 infrared LED’s which transmit all the off codes for all TV’s. Anything you point it at will be switched off successfully unless the IR sensor is covered up. Bucky has custom built it and is trying to fit it in to his Nokia phone to keep most people unaware it was him who did it.

iPod in Disguise

iPod Walkman
The iPod can be a much desired item for the thief. They stand out with their white ear phones and wires and occasionally make for an easy target.

This iPod disguise hides the iPod in an old Sony Walkman from back in the 80’s. The cassette that can be seen through the clear plastic on the front is also fake which makes it look even more real.

Hawaii Chair – Crazy Office Chair

Hawaii Chair
The Hawaii chair is a crazy “exercise” type chair which is supposedly able to give you a workout by just sitting down. I can just imagine the board of directors having a meeting hula’ing away while discussing million dollar contracts.

How can this be comfortable?
