The Nokia E7 had a release date of sometime in the 4th quarter of 2010. However, the release date looks like it has been changed to January 2011 according to what we see on the UK retailer site called Expansys.

Star Trek Home Computer Revealed

Check out the Star Trek Home Computer. It was designed to use the LCARS interface. The LCARS theme was custom designed and uses the Windows Media Player engine running on Windows XP.

UberTwitter for iPhone Launches in Open Beta

UberTwitter is coming to the iPhone. A press release pushed out has announced that the Twitter client is available for free in the iTunes store and is being made available as a Beta release for testing.

UberTwitter is one of the most popular twitter clients available and accounts for 10 million tweets per day from BlackBerry users. Moving it to the iPhone will further increase that number. [Read more…]

Nokia C2-01 Announced

Nokia announced the Nokia X2-01 a couple of days ago. Along with that announcement they also passed out details of the Nokia C2-01. The C2-01 falls in to the budget range of phones and from what Nokia tell us, it’s there cheapest 3G mobile phone available.

On the front is a small colour screen along with an alpha-numeric keypad. On the back is a 3.2 megapixel camera. For storage it has an SDHC card slot that can accept up to 16GB SD cards. [Read more…]

Metropolis II Race Track for 1,200 Toy Cars

Check out this crazy looking track. It’s called Metropolis II and is a custom build road system that can carry 1,200 cars at a time along with 13 toy trains. Around the tracks is scenery built from Lego.

Each of the 1,200 cars has been custom designed. The track starts by lifting 5 rows of cars up a steep hill and then letting gravity bring them down to the bottom of the track where they get lifted up again. [Read more…]

Google Chrome OS Release Date Set for This Year (Beta)

The Google Chrome OS release date has been set at “this year” for a while now, but with the end of the year getting close, you might be wondering if it will actually launch.

Virgin Media Public WiFi Could Launch Soon

Virgin Media is looking at options to roll out public WiFi across the UK to ease the burden placed on mobile phone networks. In recent years, perhaps since the launch of the iPhone, mobile phone networks have had to cope with far more data usage than ever before. With Twitter, Facebook and other popular websites being accessed on the go, the burden isn’t going to lower any time soon.

What Virgin Media plans to do is launch WiFi in those locations where data might not be at its best. The system will work by installing a wireless router in locations near the Virgin Media green boxes. These will allow users to connect right up to the cable network for broadband access at speeds up to 5MBps. [Read more…]

Custom Built Marble Run With Instructions

Check out the Perimeter Marble Run. The marble run set was custom built and runs around the top of a kids bedroom. It starts off with a big wheel that constantly turns and lifts marbles up. Dell Inspiron Duo Tablet – Launching December for $549

Dell is about to sell the Inspiron Duo Tablet. The launch date will be the first week of December and when launched, it will have a price tag of $549.99.

The tablet is unique in that its a laptop with a revolving screen that allows you to work with the device as a tablet or netbook. Unlike most other tablet/netbook devices, this has two hinges and allows the screen to rotate within the frame rather than on a single rotating hinge point.

GSMA Propose Embedded SIM Cards for 2012

The GSM Association is looking in to the idea of using embedded SIM cards in mobile phones beginning sometime in 2012. The new embedded SIM cards will be capable of being activated by software which means that one SIM card can be activated on any GSM network when the phone is purchased.

This follows on from what Apple [AAPL] is believed to be doing in their collaboration with Gemalto. Although the idea is good in some ways, ie, you don’t need to worry about a SIM card, it potentially will lead to a whole host of problems for users. [Read more…]

Kin ONEm and Kin TWOm Launch at Verizon

Microsoft [MSFT] has re-released the Kin ONE and Kin TWO. This time around, they are being called the Kin ONEm and Kin TWOm and will be launching back on the Verizon [VZ] network.

As for pricing, the Kin’s are a little cheaper with the ONEm costing $19.99 and the TWOm costing $49.99.
