Acer Liquid e Android Phone Unveiled

Acer have announced their latest Acer Liquid e phone. The device will run the latest Google [GOOG] OS Android 2.1 (aka Eclair) and be powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm.

The Acer Liquid e Android phone has a 3.5 inch high definition screen that is capacitive touch allowing good quality images and video to be displayed. Plenty of connectivity can be found on the Liquid e with wireless 802.11b/g being supported along with Bluetooth 2.0 and HSDPA, HSUPA and GSM/EDGE.

RAM and ROM on the device is set at 512MB and 256MB respectively. The camera has a 5 megapixel sensor although no flash is mentioned. [Read more…]

ASUS Eee T101MT gets an Intel Atom N450 Processor

The ASUS Eee T101MT has been unveiled and when launched, will come supplied with an Intel Atom N450 processor (AKA – a Pine Trail chip). By using the latest Intel Atom N450 chip it can achieve longer battery life and run a tad quicker too than previous models.

The operating system running on this tablet netbook will either be Windows 7 Starter or Windows 7 Home Premium all depending on which version you want to buy.

The screen on the ASUS T101MT measures 10.1 inches and is backlit by LED. As it’s a tablet device, the screen is also touch based by using resistive touch. The screen has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. [Read more…]

Samsung create a new CMOS HD Imager For Smartphones

Samsung have created two new CMOS image sensors called the S5K4E2 and the S5K5CA that are specifically built for mobile phones.

The new CMOS sensors are built with a smaller form factor than previous models allowing them to be squashed inside smaller phones as they are launched. As well as having a smaller form factor the CMOS sensors also can capture HD video at 720p.

The S5K4E2 imager measures 1/4 inch, 1.4 micron and can capture at 5 megapixels. The sensor can capture images from 15cm away from the lens up to infinity keeping objects in focus. The sensor can capture video up to 15 frames per second at full resolution. [Read more…]

3D Performance tested – iPhone 3G S vs Nexus One

Distinctive Developments have build a 3D animation that displays a few charachters (animated) in a 3D room with the camera moving around the scene to test the iPhone 3G S graphics performance VS that of the Nexus One.

Both the GPU and CPU on each device is tested. The GPU gets it’s stress test from the number of polygons present in the scene while the CPU handles the bone and skinning in the animation. The iPhone 3G S looks to be the superior model here reaching speeds of up to 61 frames per second vs the Nexus One that achieves 30 – 35 frames per second. [Read more…]

The huBox is a practical idea that converges three uses in to one device. The huBox is a physical storage box that measures 10 x 10 x 5 CM allowing for various things to be stored inside. Also included is an SD card reader allowing pictures from your camera to be transferred to your PC.

Motorola Devour Launching Soon

BGR managed to get hold of some details related to the launch dates of the Motorola Devour. The Devour will be launching on February 25th on indirect channels at authorised distributors and the following month on March 15th to all channels. Pricing in this instance is not known due to Verizon (who will be the carrier) not listing prices on the leaked documents.

A number of sources have mentioned to BGR that the price point is expected to be $99 for the smartphone thoughwhich is not a bad price if it happens.

Motorola Devour Technical Details

The Motorola Devour has a 3.1 inch touchscreen that has a HVGA resolution displaying 320 x 480 pixels with 65K colours as well as a slide out QWERTY keyboard that slides out of the left side of the screen. For connectivity the Devour has Bluetooth v2.0+EDR and supports the usual headset, handsfree, stereo, phonebook and Audio/Visual remote control profiles. Garmin-Asus nuvifone M10 Windows Mobile Phone Announced

Garmin and ASUS have announced the nuvifone M10 smartphone today that runs the Windows Mobile platform which Garmin-Asus say it ideal for business use. The phone, as the name suggests, is another satnav/smartphone convergence that allows users to carry an all in one device that has Garmin’s expertise in navigation built in while offering full support in Windows Mobile for Exchange services allowing business users to keep in touch.

‘The Garmin-Asus M10 is a powerful time-saving tool that is designed for anyone who is tired of carrying numerous devices and instead wants to carry one device that gives them many of the same features found on a stand-alone phone, laptop, PND and digital camera, said Cliff Pemble, Garmin’s president and COO.

Canon EOS Rebel T2i Ready for Pre-Order

We first mentioned the Canon EOS Rebel T2i a few days ago and we noticed now that it is already available for pre-order.

The $799 (body only price) camera is Canon’s latest EOS Rebel camera to be launched that boasts some quite amazing specifications for falling in to the top of the entry level range of cameras. When a new camera launches the older model is typically retired although in this instance we hear that the EOS T1i is being produced throughout 2010. Right now it’s only about $15 cheaper than the T2i for the body only version although if both are on sale side-by-side, we expect some larger discounts to be applied soon. [Read more…]

Panasonic Toughbook H1 Field Tablet Announced

Panasonic have announced a new rugged tablet called the Toughbook H1 Field. The press release describes the H1 as being the most rugged handheld tablet in the world. The H1 tablet is certified to reach both IP65 and MIL-STD-810G standards which allows it to handle drops of up to six feet.

Several options are being made available for the Toughbook H1 Field Tablet that include SmartCard, RFID and Barcode readers as well as optional camera, GPS and mobile broadband that is provided on a Qualcomm chip.

Powering the Toughbook H1 is an Intel Atom 1.86GHz processor and the battery will keep the tablet running for up to six hours on a single charge. [Read more…]

HTC Legend – Another Leaked Pic

The HTC Legend has been snapped a few times before and here we find another picture of it, but this time the picture also was sent with a number of specs to let us know exactly what will be included with the phone.

The Legend looks to have an aluminium casing that wraps around the edges of the phone. The smartphone has a 3.2 inch HVGA AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and the phone is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7227 processor that runs at 600MHz.

Other features include a fairly decent five megapixel camera that uses an LED flash to light subjects. For connectivity it has Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and WiFi. [Read more…]

Canon EOS T2i Announced

Ready for Pre-Order. Canon have released details of their latest EOS Rebel camera called the Canon EOS T2i. The new T2i will become the higher spec model in the lower-cost digital SLR camera range.

On to the technical specs we see it has an 18 megapixel sensor with the ability to use 9-point autofocus and a 63 zone dual layering metering system similar to like the EOS 7D camera has.

On the back of the camera is a 3 inch LCD screen that has a smudge resistive coating and is capable of showing live-view images. [Read more…]

LG Arena Max LU9400 Leaked

The LG Arena Max LU9400 has been leaked by a site over in Korea. The Arena Max has been spotted before clearing WiFi certification and this, as far as I am aware is the only other information available right now.

The phone appears to have a 3.5 inch screen that’s touchscreen. A step up from the original LG Arena shows this model to have a Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm that runs at 1GHz. For connectivity it has the usual WiFi and Bluetooth arrangement. GPS is also included on this phone allowing for location based services to be used as well as navigation if software permits.
