Path for iPhone Launches

Path is an app for the iPhone that has just launched. What the new application does is lets you share your life with close friends and family. To do this you use the camera on your iPhone to capture events as they happen. You can then have up to 50 friends added to the application who will get to see your pictures taken.

You have the ability to tag images and moments as you encounter them. The app lets you know when your friends have seen the pictures. As well as being able to share and be notified of who has viewed what on your account, Path also has a map section that allows you to explore places where friends have visited that they have shared with you. Kinect’s First Day

Well it’s been a day since Microsoft’s new hands-free, motion sensing camera – Kinect, arrived in the UK.

Nikon D700 with $6000 Lens Destroyed in Dragster Race

What you are looking at here is a dead Nikon D700 camera, battery grip and a $6000 Nikon 400mm 2.8 lens that was destroyed in a drag race.

The camera was being remote controlled at the time when a top fuel dragster lost control at the Auto Club Famoso in Bakersfield camera. When losing control, it went up the barrier and smacked in to the camera smashing it in to pieces. [Read more…]

Microsoft Kinect Teardown

iFixit decided to tear apart the new Microsoft Kinect to see what exactly is inside and how it all works.

A few interesting finds include the addition of two cameras, four microphones as well as IR projectors and accelerometers.

The device uses a fan to keep it cool although iFixit believe its a bit of overkill for the amount of heat it will generate but then speculate its to keep things cool rather than face another RRoD problem like the Xbox had. [Read more…]

The T-Mobile myTouch 4G is being made available as of today. The phone its self was announced earlier last month.

The myTouch 4G runs the latest Android 2.2 operating system. It has 4G connectivity, compatible with T-Mobile HSPA+ network. The smartphone has a 3.8 inch display and a processor that runs at 1GHz. Archos 70 Internet Tablet With Android 2.2 Now Shipping

Archos is starting to ship a new range of tablets starting today. The model that launched today is the Archos 70. It comes with 8GB of storage and it runs Android 2.2.

Viewsonic ViewPad 7 & 10 Release Dates Revealed

ViewSonic has released details of the US launch of the ViewPad 7 and 10 models. ViewSonic confirmed that the 7 inch model will launch in the forth quarter of this year with a price tag of $479 while the larger 10 inch model will arrive early next year with a price tag of $629.

Each of the ViewSonic tablets is slightly different. The larger of the two devices is actually a dual booting machine that runs both Windows 7 Home Premium and Google Android 1.6. When switching it on you get to choose which OS boots up. For times when you quickly need to check email, you can boot in to Android and quickly grab those. iPhone 3GS gets HD Video Recording – Needs Jailbreak

The iPhone 3GS is capable of capturing video in HD according to a guide over at Redmond Pie. The guide says that the camera is capable of recording 1080×800 pixels at a frame rate of 30fps by making a small tweak to a jailbroke iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.1

The method was performed using the Limera1n iOS 4.1 jailbreak and requires that you install OpenSSH to get access to the necessary file to modify it. [Read more…]
